Eliza's first on-screen kiss on BTVS

I posted this topic on another thread (the 'Faith and Angelus in "Enemies"' thread in BTVS season-three forum), but since I didn't get any replies, I'm going to re-post it here:-

Okay I just wanted to ask you guys: apparently the on-screen kiss scene between fake-Angelus and Faith in 'Enemies' (BTVS season three) is the first on-screen kiss for Eliza. Is that true? Because I read somewhere a long time ago about how she used her tongue for the kiss scene and ended up getting it punctured because of David's vampire teeth. Apparently using the tongue in an on-screen kiss scene is not allowed and Eliza didn't know that. lol 😀 Is that true? Because I read about it a long time ago.
 
I'm not sure about this. Try reading the Wiki page for "Enemies" in the trivia seciton, or try The Buffy and Angel Trivia Guide in said section. I'd research it now but I don't have time as I'm at work (hehe). I'll get back to this. See what I can find out.

I don't know if the kissing Angel thing is true though, but poor her if she actually got hurt from kissing a guy. One more reason why she should have kissed Buffy instead 🙂

Sure you can, but only in, erm, certain productions. :hihi:

But with the rules on US TV, I wouldn't be surprised if this were actively forbidden and enforced by the stations. I've once read a book about the production of classic Star Trek (ok, that was back in the 60s, but still...), and they always got notes into the pre-shooting scripts by the station execs, like "avoid open mouth during kiss" or "no showing of belly button with costume!".
 
I think her first kiss was with David, because she said it in the interview. And in the episode The Zeppo they could of used someone that looked like her or a model with brown hair, because Faith and Xander are terrible together.
 
Eliza talks about this on one of the Dollhouse commentary's, it's very funny.

That's clearly her. And just because some people don't like the idea of a 'ship, doesn't mean they can't actually kiss...
 
Ha, there's no way they'd hire a stunt double for a simple kissing scene. It is, however, possible that scenes/episodes were shot in different orders than they were intended to air, maybe someone wasn't available at a certain time, I really don't know. Even if that's not the case though, it's entirely possible Eliza said it was her first television kiss to make the story better. TV shows are all about entertainment, after all.
 
If that was the only piece they were shooting, or they just needed that bit to finish their day. Say Eliza had to leave to make her turnaround and that was all that was left, they might dress her stand in if she's a photo double to close out the scene. I just was saying it was possible however unlikely.
 
Maybe it was Eliza but not Nickolas Brendan, because Nick has a twin brother named Kelly, and it said in Nick's biography that sometimes his brother Kelly covered for him if he couldn't make it. So it was probably Kelly.
