Emma's Performance in "the body"

Yea she is much of a muli-talented women! Also has anyone seen darkness Falls?? Emma was in hat and my freind said that she was hell scared and Emma made it look so real and screamed loud! So she is also good at fear 😛
 
I think that scene is one of the best scene of the whole show. I cry the first time i saw it, and every time i see it. Emma did a great job, and i don't know if it's just me, but i think Emma was actually crying saying those things, i mean i think she really felt was she was saying, and it wasn't just a performance of the character...

Was very touching, the whole eppy was great...
 
Gosh, just reading that brought tears to my eyes. That is such a powerful scene. Emma was great!
 
This is really a great scene. I was really touched by it. Anya is a really great character, but more a comedy addition. So it had such a great impact, when she made that speech.

Emma's performance in 'The Body' is the best performance in the whole episode. Most people are lik e"what? how can you forget about Buffy and Dawn, they just lost their mother!!!" but everyone was so nice to them. Anya's pain seemed to be greater than theirs. Not her grief, but her pain. I mean, Willow was being mean to her, Xander ignoring her and all she wanted to do was to understand. She was a small child facing death for the first time, probably not understanding even the feelings she was having and people just brushed her. I'm getting all teary just thinking about it! Her performance was one of the most realistic and heartbreaking things I've ever seen. If there was any justice in the world, Emma would win an Emmy for best supporting actress in a drama series. I disagree with people who say Anya doesn't show much emotion, she does, but I've never seen her so broken before. The Anya we all know and love would have just come out and said that right at the start but she was trying so hard to be "good" and "proper" that she held back. Of course, Willow didn't even give her credit for that, she just told her to shut up. Finally, she just burst and let it out. Sometimes I put 'The Body' on just to watch that scene over and over again. My sister thinks it's reallllly weird to watch something so depressing but it's something I can't stop doing! Anyway, that's enough of my little rant... Emma is the best!!!!!!!!!!!
 
wow! thats a sumery 😉 yes I think that she was the one that did the most emotion in that episode all thogh all the other charecters dealt with Joyce's death in a different way; xander got angry, willow changed often, buffy thoght this was to real to happen and Dawn didn think it was real enogh.
 
I love this episode, and I love Anya's scene, (just look at my banner!) she should have won something!
 
When Anya started saying all those inappropriate things like "are they going to cut the body", I was thinking "I know that's her character, Joss, but for the love of God, make her shut up. A woman is dead!" But then Anya made the most beautiful speech and it was all worth it.
 
OMG i loved that episode and i cry everytime i see it. i think that Emma did an amazing job in that scene, when Anya started asking all of those inapropriate questions. i love that episode!

I was watching 'The Body' the other day, and I put the Commentary on from Joss, and he said that he hadnt expected the Anya scene to move so many people.
Which is completely true, being an Anya fan for so long, you realise that Anya is very underated character, and that annoys me sometimes, but I was so happy that Joss gave Anya a scene to win people's hearts, to get her popular, ok, maybe that wasnt his intentions, but he certainly created a great speech.
I've always thought that the speech pretty much Anya's character up; we have the humour: ''And I was having fruit punch, and I thought 'well Joyce well never have any more fruit punch' '' we have the saddness and innocence, ''She'll never yawn or brush her hair, not ever, and no one will explain to me why'' and the basic confusion of her character, about life ''But I dont understand!''
So...Im just gonna say ''Well done Joss!'' lol!
 
I think that line by Anya represents the akwardness in all of us, what we are thinking or don't know what to be thinking in moments like these.
 
i always loved anya as a caracter, and emma's a great actress.. but that scene was amazing, if i would cry at any tv shows, i would have cried then..good thing i'm an insensitive and cold b*stard!
 
I think Anya/Emma is always great, but that scene was amazing...It was all so true, and so real...That's what I love so much about Anya, she says things that most people think about but never say out loud...
