So, Becoming Part II is my favourite episode ever. And there is this thing that always hits me when I'm watching that episode, and I start to cry because of that. Buffy was ready to kill Angelus. But I think she wasn't ready to kill Angel. If Willow didn't restored his soul, I think Buffy would be sad after killing him. But she didn't kill the monster that killed so many people, she killed the man she loves. And when he turns back into Angel, he hugs her and say "God Buffy, I feel like I haven't see you in months", and she has this look on her face, like she is happy, but sad, and then she realise she has to kill him. And that face, it hits me everytime, like I can feel her pain, and I can feel whatever she feels. She says to him that she loves him, and then she kills him. And after that, something broke in her. Like one part of her was gone, because she killed love. And song "Full of Grace" by Sarah McLachlan doesn't help, because it's so sad, and it fits. And line in the end of the show "I know I could love you much better then this" kills me. Am I the only one? Do you guys feel like that also? I grow up with that show, Buffy is my hero, and I started to act like her and think like her, now she is part of me, and I know how I would feel and I think it's hard to see her like that because of that. I can relate to her. So, is it just me, or that episode left it's mark on all of us?

I rewacthed it and i agree if willow wasnt going to do the spell she was about to use the sword to chope his head off.It made me sad for Buffy too and i can relate to her thats why i love Buffy soo much it makes my life eaiser somehow lol 😉!
The lengthy Buffy/Angelus sword fight ,was special and it was so inspired be their love and connection with the figthing,Buffy was ready but deep down she still loved him ,but a slayer comes resposiblities and consequences, so she had to kill him,.;(

This episode never fails to make me cry. It's just so sad. Another one of those moments/issues I struggle to actually verbalise.

And I still think that if it Willow hadn't have done the spell, Angelus could have taken Buffy. 😉

I agree with pretty much everything you said, but the most heartbreaking part for me is when Buffy says "Close your eyes" which is exactly what Darla said before she sires him.

Nice observation :)
Overall, it's one of Buffy's finest hours, a truly action packed and emotionally bruising hour of television. There is so much to love; the fight sequence, Willow getting further into her witchcraft, Spike getting not one, but two classic moments (his Manchester United speech and the "he's going to bloody kill her" line), Giles getting tortured and lastly Sarah McLachlan. The use of Full of Grace is one of the best uses of music I have ever seen in a piece of film and kickstarted my own personal love affair with her music.

I love Sarah McLachlan. However, it was the use of 'Angel' and 'Dirty Little Secret' in Alias that got me into her properly but she's very aptly used in BtVS too.

I am always amazed that Joss Whedon managed to avoid the temptation of using the song Angel in Buffy. I know it appeared on one of the soundtrack albums, but never the series, as far as I can remember anyway. Her music is amazing, isn't it. Her voice is so unique and beautiful and her songs are masterpieces.

Yup she is awesome. Her songs are all surprisingly diverse too. A lot of female vocalists can get a bit 'samey' but she has a very wide variety of styles and they're all great :)

ANGEL :That's everything, huh? No weapons, no friends. No hope. Take all that away and what's left?
Without opening her eyes she slams her palms together over the blade, stopping it an inch from her face.
BUFFY :Me.

That scene is just powerful! That girl is the Slayer...she is strong and she is more that meets the eye...

Amazing episode...I think Buffy was ready to kill Angelus...because she realised there was no other choice...Kendra died...Willow was in the hospital...the police considered her as a suspect...her Mom kicked her out...thank God Spike decided to help her...fantastic swordfight...but i really disliked Xander(he had pissed me off because he didn't like Angel...but that "kick his ass" line...so unacceptable...)he should have warned her...Just think of the possibility...if Xander had warned Buffy about the spell Willow was going to cast...maybe Buffy would have delayed Angel...and he wouldn't have opened the gate to hell...but she was too late...Angelus opened the gate...and everything was about to be sucked in hell...unless someone killed Angelus...truly tragic...
