Ending with Willow

I thought it was interesting that Willow became the ultimate bad at the end of season 6. It was a twist I hadn't expected.

I also loved how we see Xander as the savior of the day in this season's finale. When it comes down to it, he and Willow have such a close relationship that it was nice to see him being able to break through the dark Willow exterior and reach the real Willow underneath. I liked that he was able to save the world without anyone else's help. It was a really nice change for his character.

That scene was one of the most touching in the whole show.

The finale to season 6 was ok, as someone has earlier mentioned, it showed that Xander isnt as useless as some people see him. But it was a bit cheesy!

My favourite finale has always been Graduation Day..... and Primeval was kind of a sub finale, as Buffy killed Adam, that was very cool! With Restless being a nice follow on!

It made a change to see Willow also getting some arse kicking action! Go Go Go!

i don't think it was cheezy it was perfect having her best friend save her like that it was great. Now if buffy would have done it it might not have had such an impact since they don't ha ve a real huge history like willow and xander do

: pirate: <---- Xander 😉

I love the fact that it was the one character who had no powers whatsoever had the one power needed to save the world. Without fighting. That was brilliant.

Ohhh i have an opinion here.

Xander saves the world......people are you serious. The guy is a clown. He makes me laugh, but thats it.

That would have been my comment before i saw it.

Now, i think every single season ender is fantastic, but to me, this one beats the others

Prophecy Girl
Becoming
Graduation Day
Restless
The Gift
and Chosen

They are all really great, but the idea of the scoobs having to fight themselves while saving the group, so fantastic.
Xander was the ONLY choice, because, although Buffy and Willow are best friends, i always felt that Buffy was the extra friend, simply because she joined later.
She may have bonded really well with Willow and Xander and was even their best friend, but the core of that relationship was the LIFE that Willow and Xan had lead together.

Plus, I always knew Giles was cool, but this episode he was practically the Fonz.......'There'......that single word there, is possibly my favourite part of the whole show, just because it explains everything in that second.
What all the stuff Giles had said meant, what was going to Happen, who was gonna be the saviour......i love this episode.

I completely agree!!
I love Spike. I love Buffy. I love Spike and Buffy. Xander took such a back seat in the show, mostly used for comedy, so when he "saved" the world. I was blown away. The scene on the bluff with Willow is, for me, one of the best, most touching scenes of the entire show. If I wasn't such a manly man, I would have cried watching that for the first time.

XANDER: First day of kindergarten. You cried because you broke the yellow crayon, and you were too afraid to tell anyone. You've come pretty far, ending the world, not a terrific notion. But the thing is? Yeah. I love you. I loved crayon-breaky Willow and I love ... scary veiny Willow. So if I'm going out, it's here. If you wanna kill the world? Well, then start with me. I've earned that.

the scene on kingmans bluff was the best it woz soo great, really touching.the fact that it was Xander that saved Willow, the one who doesnt have any powers, who has always felt like a spare part in not having powers to help the scooby gang,i thought that was well sweet.at the end where Willow was crying with Xander it practically made me cry,i think they picked the perfect bit of music to go with that scene!i think that the fact that Buffy couldnt save Willow was great, even though they are wicked friends.i think Buffy and Willow have always sort of had this competition going on between them, which is why Buffy couldnt save Willow, when Willow was on the magicks i think that she kind of showed that competition more, especially when they were fighting.i think Buffy tries to solve problems the slayer way and not with her full emotions, which is one of the reasons she couldnt reach Willow and Xander could.(at least that's what i think)

That scene where Xander saves Willow was amazing. Like a lot of you said, xander was always the normal guy who couldn't do anything or he'll get hurt. Like in The Zeppo. So when I saw that ep for the first time and he was the one who saved Willow (and the world) it was believable. Him and Willow have been best friends forever and he knows her better than anyone. He's the only scooby who knows how to get into her heart.

this ending was fantastic!i think like a lot of u have said that it was really touching. it was original and unexpected that for once they have to stop one of the scoobies, one of their closest friends from destroying the world.
i liked the fact that this time only Xander, the powerless guy, was able to save the world.it shows the fighting is not the only way to solve problems,
when you have to fight your best friend the only weapon is the memories and the words so xander was the one who could deal with the situation!and he didn't fail!

I personally thought the ending of season 6 was a bit of an anti-climax. It was a little fast for an announcement of ending the world.

Overall though, I thought it was magnificent and brilliant. Willow breaking downt touched me and instead of Buffy saving the world at the end of the season...it was Xander, the guy with no power...Xander Harris.

It was pretty good, and it was cool to see Xander save the world and help Willow by just saying "I love you."

it was a bit quick.. from revenge to wanting to end the world, but yeah i agree xander dude 🙂 see the power of love strikes again 🙂

I dont think it was quick. She wanted revenge. That was her main concern yeah. Until she stole Giles' power. She probably thought she was the only one in the world feeling so bad (guilt makes you selfish like that) but she then realised so many other people were feeling bad too. Not just her. So she wanted to end it.

It may have felt quick to watch but with all that emotion inside her all of a sudden, its understandable. She realised she could stop everyone feeling so bad. Unfortunately it was in a really bad way.

I think it's great they ended with willow I mean in that season she did go through the biggest changes and she lost so much I think she deserved it. Joss didn't write it? well that's weird

I most definitely agree with the speak about Joss not writing the finale. I think it would have been better if he had written it, he just has that way. I really liked 'Grave' but if Joss had written it, it may have been a bit better and possibly could have harbored more interest. Still a great episode, no doubt.

I agree too.I really love the final and the writers are good but joss is just the best! he's the one who created buffy and i think he would have been the best to write this episode...

I kinda thought it was nice to see Willow back to her normal self

She knew that it was wrong just to take her anger out on the people that she loves. Including Dawn, Buffy, Glies, Anya, and Xander. But since she was so juiced up with so much magic, she couldn't take the pain anymore. Instead, she just wanted to kill everyone, even herself. I was so happy to see Xander get to Willow. I knew he would be the one to save the world. Yet, I broke down in tears when Willow was crying and everything. I had an image in my head that I wanted to hold her close in my arms like Xander was.
