England BB meeting

I'm up for it if it's a weekend - just as long as I can persuade DH to look after our demon child for the day......

I went to a BuffyUK meet in Birmingham at the Walkabout pub 5 years ago - we stayed over at a hotel - it was good fun, and nice to meet people you had chatted with! There was some seriously bad dancing though...... 😱

Course I may bombard you all (if you are willing) with questions about being a Buffy fan and life on the boards ....... my ethnographic research continues 😉

Good god yes! Obviously you remembered the dancing....... not mine, of course. I had far too many bacardi breezers to dance🙂
 
I don't remember much of that night, it was my first BUK meet, I met Evil Willow at a Buffy Con and she got me onto the site and invited me down.

What was your username on BUK and i'm guessing your on T21? I gotta say i'm drawing a blank, not around T21 much but I keep in touch with most of them.

Did you do nos nights.
 
Do you know what.... I think I know who you are!

I remembered 2 younger girls (not referring to board time - your age as you would have been then - I was 31!) dressed up in a lot of tight black clothing manically dancing like things possessed (not in a bad way you understand - I mean in the manic way I danced when I was 20 and had some energy and a body fit enough to show off!). Both with black hair, and I remember one of them was Scottish. One of you may have also been dressed up???

I also saw you (if it was you) at a couple of Nos nights. One in particular where all the men (Morpheus, Random, Rally, Inc) were ogling the really nice German(?) girl's g - string sticking up over her jeans...... I hung out in the corner with Opiumia cuddling a beer observing with a scowl.... I also went to an Alton Towers meet.

I was, and always will be, Kali on the boards. I had about 400 posts on BUK before it closed, so I wasn't a heavy poster, more of a lurker. I think I have posted on Tangent 21 maybe twice? I was on a different board which has since closed - Slayer-boards.... so many boards, so little time 😉

I don't think that was me, can't remember what trousers I had on but my t'shirt was slashed and had 'bad' written on it, I was 18 back then. I think I know the girls you mean, it was either Kris and Hannah or Lexy & Mamf. That and my hair was coppery red back then.

lol yeah that sounds like them, that would have been me as that German girl would have been Sarah, a good friend of mine bless her.

I was Faith17 back on BUK but go by Evil Lawyer Chick on T21. Its such a shame they stopped Nos nights they were a great nights.
 
Ack! Darn! I can't come down on the weekend because I can't get enough time off work. I'll be down from the 20th - 24th March. I've already taken the weekend before that for a wedding in France. 🙁 Sorry guys.

I'll try and get up and see you hon but chances are slim. But you have an open invite to London as you know.
 
Speaking of, I still intend to go to London...at some point....maybe...

If I do though I've got quite a few people to meet up with, maybe we could meet up Faith, could be interesting.
 
Can I ask the sensible old bloke question? Have we got a venue in mind? And an approximate date?

BTW I now declare this event's title to be BBGB06 and if I get really bored at work next week I'll seek out fonts and design a badge 😉

...still working up to telling the wife btw...that's why I'm asking for more detail 🙂
 
Yeah, a venue and rough date would help me too! Gone are the days when i could just throw on my jacket and disappear for the weekend! Gonna need to make certain i can free up the time.

Bloody grown up responsibilities! It's no wonder i don't get to concerts anymore! 🙂

Nowhere near as much as i used to anyway. It used to be that i would get to a gig every weekend, even if i had to settle for some nobody band playing at a local pub. These days i barely get chance to even see the bands i really like.

Of course, it doesn't help matters that my girlfriend isn't as into rock as i am. I usually go for rock chick types (probably because i usually meet girls at gigs) but this time i fell for a bit of a pop princess. She doesn't hate rock but her tastes stop at the likes of Bon Jovi or the Foo Fighters, maybe a little Green Day. The chances of getting her to see System of a Down or Slipknot are pretty slim! 😀
 
Venues in Brum, of the non-bookable (ie no money needed) kind...MacDonalds! Nah just kidding, hmm shame we can't predict the weather cause theres a few places where outside would be fine, but if its yuck and rainy then it'll put a damper (bad pun) on it.

So yeah, that answered nothing. If we're all over eighteen we could just go to a pub or something, least its indoors.
 
Yeah, if there isnt more than about 10 of us we should be able to just take over a pub or some such.

can we get a list of everyone thats coming?

Hands up who can come during a week day sometimes between the Monday 20th March and Thursday 23th March (you leave on Friday elmo right?)

Please... send me PM and then I'll post a list in here... anyone who have technical question just ask away too...:tongue:
