OK so explain season 6 Buffy. She was ripped out of heaven remember. Even if heaven isn't Christian in the Whedonverse, and I have no reason to think it is, Buffy was in a very happy and safe place. She was dead and for lack of a better term happy. Bodies don't matter, and as I've said before that includes minds. The brain is just a part of the body, thought is just a part of the body. Buddhism has recognized this for centuries, and I think Whendon plays with that idea to create vampires. The body and mind are only a shell once the substance of a person is gone. A vampire is simply a human shell animated by a demon. It is never a person unless it has a soul. Depending on the vamp it may have very human characteristics, but it doesn't think like a person or understand selfless human actions. Harmony and Spike both did "good" actions as vamps, but as many people have pointed out Spike had alterior motives and Harmony does as well. She wants Angel's group to be her friends and wants them to let her keep her job and not "kill" her. Ensouling a vampire is wrong, but interesting plot wise. There is no reason anyone should reguarly ensoul vampires.Perigon said:
