Entering the online Forums

Greetings!
I have been a Buffy enthusiast for quite some time now, and it was only a few days ago that it occurred to me that there actually might be some Buffy/Whedonite forums. I was rewatching the documentary on Firefly/Serenity 'Done the Impossible', and many of the fans on there were talking about the forums and sites they all talked on. So I thought "there definitely must be one for Buffy and the other Whedon shows!"... So here I am 🙂

So, just to get the basics over and done with... I will try my best to post as much as I can, and I'm always up for debate/hearing other opinions.. As long as it doesn't get verbally violent 🙂 I'm quite excited to be getting started and I'm always open for questions on my opinions and preferences... Whether addressing Buffy, Angel, Firefly, Much Ado, Dollhouse etc.

That I have found including here, there are a total of three Buffy/Angel forums, but this one is by far the most active. So you'll be able to find plenty to discuss here and plenty of fans to discuss with.

It's so great that the franchise has been able to hold so much interest for such a length of time. I often come in VERY late to fandoms, including this one so it's nice to know that for once I've picked one that's still talked about because it can be frustrating not having an outlet for my insightful observations and theories.

Well, I may aswell tell you my Buffy ones to.. As they are as follows: Spike, Oz, Willow, Anya 🙂

As for Dollhouse.. It's hard to narrow them down but I'd have to say: Echo (of course), Adele, Topher, Alpha🙂

Good choices! I love all of those characters too! Are you a Spuffy shipper since you like Spike? You'll see opinions are pretty divided on this board regarding Spike vs Angel, but I personally like both character, don't ship either though.

My favs are Faith and Tara for Buffy. And also Adele for Dollhouse. Gosh I love that woman, her and Topher have the best chemistry also! I also love Bennett, Saunders, and Viktor.

And yes, her and Topher's relationship was one of my favourites but I saw it more as a mother and son relationship, especially when it came to the apocalypse and he became rather absent. Dr Saunders was also one of my favourites.

And I can't express enough how much I loved Amy Acker's character Winifred in Angel. I fell in love with her straight away. Ever since I saw her play the role of Fred, she became such an asset to me. She's one of my inspirations.

Hello. It is good to have you on the forum. Some good choices for favourite chracters. I am a big Spike fan myself and Willow is a great character too.

Will admit that I have only seen one episode of Dollhouse but do want to check more out.

Yeah Amy Acker blows me away as Fred too. She is just one of the sweetest and most beatiful characters across the shows and very smart too. Loved her in Much Ado About Nothing Too.

Fred is my fav on Angel too! Alongside Wesley. But I agree, Amy Acker is fantastic! She's way underrated as an actress.

Nice to see another Dollhouse fan! Welcome to the BB. I agree with you about Amy Acker, she's amazing in everything she's in, and I love, love, love Fred! Probably my favorite character on Angel.

Was Dollhouse any good? I've only seen a few episodes

Some people love it, some people hate it. The first 5 eps of s1 are pretty bad but then it gets better. If you're an Eliza Dushku fan then you might enjoy it. Cause I've heard a lot of people say they can't get into the show because they don't like Eliza's acting in it.

I definitely agree! She's got such talent and isn't recognised ENOUGH. And yes, Wesley is truly brilliant. His character development is so brilliant and I just fell more and more in love with him as he got more into it. 🙂 

So how's about I get creative and ask you who your favorite Angel or Buffy villain was? Was Dollhouse any good? I've only seen a few episodes. (and I see your a Spuffy shipper?)

I would have to say, apart from the all-round gang (Darla, Angelous, Drusilla and Spike) My favourite super-villain would have to be a mixture really. I can never seem to settle for one character when it comes to favourites... The Master, Caleb, Mayor and The First(just for the pure idea of them being able to show the body of a person who is dead to whomever they wish. I think that type of pain and torment is ongoing.. - especially seen with Faith). In Angel, it would have to be Wolfram and Hart as a whole because of their sheer wit and constant patronisation.. Even when we began to think they'd settled to work with Angel Investigations, they were always still plotting something behind their back. (This includes Lindsay and Lilah). And the seperate super-villain would have to be Holtz (Considering I love his absolute devotion to his family and way of justice).

Dollhouse is brilliant. Depending on the person, it may take a while to get into.. But I believe it was part way through season one that it really kicked off and got really interesting! Season 2 is absolutely fantastic!!! I can not stress that enough. All of the actors and characters are brilliant and well developed and there are many surprises here and there! Believe me! You'll honestly love it, and I urge you to watch more of it🙂 You will not regret it 🙂 - Let me know if you do and we can talk about it!

Yeah I get what you mean with it taking a while to get into it really. And wow, really?! I never knew that people actually had an issue with it. I was always very appealed by her acting choices so I never took it into account. Ah well, everyone for their own opinions I suppose🙂

I loved her aswell to be fair! I'd count her as one of my favourites also, but I didn't want it to sound like I was just making a list of all the key characters in the show 😀

I agree a lot with you on this subject- there were a lot of good villains during the course of Buffy. The First always got to me, with what you said, the whole being able to show the dead and the pain.
I'd love to discuss Dollhouse or anything else at any point!

Hi and welcome. I love fred/Illyria. I also love dark wesley a lot. On Buffy I like giles, tara, willow, buffy and dawn most.

What's your favorite season for angel and buffy? For me, S5 and s3 for buffy in that order; 5, 4 and 3 in that order on Angel.

9 out of 10 times the touchy subject on the boards is Spike, pro and con. Partly because of the ship war with Angel for Buffy, partly because Spike is a love him or hate him, divisive kind of guy. I stay out of it usually, because I don't have strong feelings about him, and because I don't ship anyone at all.
