Ok so I just got done watching Firefly for the first. I had seen Serenity before at work and I was intrigued and quiet enjoyed it. It wasn't until I got here to BB that everyone kept telling me to watch Firefly. Let me tell ya, I am soooooo glad I listened to y'all. I loved it 😀 The storyline was amazing and the characters were so easy to love. I didn't hate any of the characters at all (well except the bad guys 😛)

I think my favorite characters are Kaylee, Wash, and Inara. Although I do love Jayne a lot too. Kaylee and Jayne have the best lines though.

My ships are:

Kaylee/Simon
Kaylee/Inara
Wash/Zoe
Zoe/Mal (don't ask)
Mal/Inara

As for the rest of the cast, I think it's best they keep to themselves 😛

One of my favorite lines by Kaylee:

"Oh look, there are boy whores. How thoughtful. I wonder if they service females" 😀

I now understand why Firefly was/is such a big deal. I already find myself searching for fics and a friend of mine told me there were comics, so i'm looking for those as well.

Now it's over. It's done. And I is a sad panda 🙁

You say nothing about River. :/ Kaylee/Simon! 😀 How could you not ship 'em ? Ya know?!
 
Yeah I actually saw it before I even heard of Firefly, and for some odd reason i thought Firefly and Serenity where the same thing. Dummy me! I am so glad I was able to watch the show because it cleared up so many things for me lol

In general I liked the series better than the movie, but the movie was awesome, so that says a lot about my opinion of the series. 🙂 River's character really was wrapped up well in the movie, as well as the origin of the Reavers. And I adored the "can't stop the signal" subtheme, wish more would've been paid attention to that actually.

I intend to DVR it next month when it comes on Science Channel, even though I have the BluRays and on my Netflix queue lol. I want to see the science stuff they're going to interject, and if Nathan Fillion will be doing anything with it (I heard maybe he's going to do some promos or something?).

Totally agreed. The show for me, was a lot more satisfying than the film. But the film was still great 😀

I've seen Dr. Horrible and I loved it 😀 It's up next in my Whedon re-watch 😛
 
Just watched Serenity! A-Mazing. You were totally right about River in the movie. Her fighting looked liked dancing so gracefull.

Totally agreed! I loved the fight scenes with her. The first one was amazing, and it reminded me of Dollhouse 😀 The final fight scene was just wow. She moves so gracefully and is just an amazing fighter. No wonder the alliance wanted her 😛
 
I am with you on the Mal/Zoe I could see it happening later on if they wanted it to. I liked Zoe/Wash but I could see how Mal/Zoe could be a ship. Glad you watched it I just finished it as well.
 
Oh my, so much talk about Firefly and love of ships, brings about my insane obsession with River/Jayne fic. lol.

Off to go search out the best of the best...

Having watched all of "Firefly" now, about the only aspect that disappointed me is that River wasn't as well-developed a character as she should have been. Serenity helped with that, but it would have been nice to see her character development in the TV show 🙂. That said, Mal was my favorite character, but all of the characters had their moments. And now a question for the ladies (for the record, I do not feel this way): How many here enjoyed watching "Trash" just for the site of Mal's bare butt :tongue3:?

I'm pretty sure that if the show had continued, River would have had a LOT of character development. 😛 Much more than on Serenity I bet. So blame it on the lack of time!
