Episode Angel: Did Angel love Buffy?

True, like he gave her a pass in... Well, in more or less every Ats S2/S3 Darla!Episode. 😉

Much like he gave Drusilla and Spike passes. Buffy does the same thing too. If you look at both of the shows you will find a long list of demons/humans that Buffy and Angel have given second, third and any number of chances too. Of course, for both of them their is a heiracrhy to that system and certain people get forgiven for more and with greater ease than others.

I find it interesting how Buffy doesn't kill Spike. She knows where he is most of the time yet doesn't seem to want to kill him. Its as if she enjoys him being a nuisance, until she finally develops feelings for him.

I can't remember many other people she let off though. Watched an episode today where it appears she's going to let the Vampire that bit Riley escape but then she kills her.

True, I mean, a lot of you were hoping that Buffy would've killed Spike after the AR or Sleeper... But she didn't.

Still, killing one's sire must be huge, like killing your evil mother. 😉 (Spike flashback, anyone?) But I think that it all worked out for the better, Darla's arc on Ats was fantastic imo.

Also, just wondering again: If Buffy happened to show up in Ats S2/S3 during the Darla arc (either one, or both 🙂 ), and wanted to kill Darla, because, hello, Darla was the head of the welcoming kill her committee in Sunnydale, do you think that Angel would have let her?

Personally, I don't think so, mostly because I'm reminded of the Five by Five/Sanctuary events. 🙂

Well in the second arc I don't believe that Buffy would have actually gone ahead with trying to kill Darla. Darla was incredibly vulnerable when she was pregnant. Buffy couldn't have killed her for the same reason she couldn't kill chipped Spike. Secondly,no, Angel most certainly would not have let Buffy do that, if she had wanted to.

During the first arc, when Dru had turned Darla and Angel had gone mildy crackers I think Buffy would have told Angel if he doesn't kill them, she would. He would have told Buffy to go back to Sunnydale, that it was his fight. She would have ignored him and made moves to take Dru and Darla out.

I'm inclined to think that Buffy would have taken Darla out, not sure about Dru, she always seems to escape somehow. I also think Angel would have been furious and tried to fight Buffy and had a bit of a breakdown. Much like Faith in Five by Five.

Yeah, that seems right. 🙂 And really, I am so glad that Buffy didn't show up and kill Darla, that would just be... Heartbreaking. As well as infuriating. Not only because Darla is in my top two favorites characters, but because her whole Pregnant arc was so amazing. 🙂

I'd be rooting for Darla to kill Buffy instead, or for Angel to save Darla in the nick of time. That would've been cool. (Although, I wonder, why is it that Buffy always seems like such an annoying bitca when she crosses over to Angel's side? I say annoying because there's a good kind of bitca (Cordy), which, unfortunately, imo Buffy is not. 😉 )

Buffy in Angel's new world was a threatened Buffy and a threatened Buffy only means one thing: attack!

... I'll admit it, I had to re-read that one before I had any idea what you said. 😉

But anyway, good explanation, it makes perfect sense. 🙂 Buffy is used to being in control, all the time. That's why she went for guys like Riley that were hopelessly devoted to her like a puppy dog, or Spike who loved her unconditionally. She had the control. But in Angel's world, she wasn't sure what to expect, and wasn't sure where she fit in. It was "Angel's City". And if she didn't have the power, then she'd try to get the power. And yes, a lot of the time her nervousness made her lash out.

Hm. Interesting. 🙂

I think it's just that their ideas about sires and vampires evolved over the series. The fact that he killed Darla in season one before any of these ideas were fleshed out doesn't mean he loved buffy. I believe in infatuation at first sight, but IMO if you don't know someone, it's not real love. The brain chemicals are all the same so it feels that way, but I don't believe in LOVE at first sight at all.

Hmm, I think he was in love with her and she was in love with him, but I don't think they really started love eachother until after their first kiss. I think at first Buffy was a crush for him in the beginning and then in second season he fell in love with her because he had known her more.
