Episode Deletion

Thank you Joan & Eleftheria yes the ONLY good thing is Sarah acting like a cave man...that was hilarious lol

InsaneMystic if you think Bangel is childish and believe that Spuffy is more meaningul/serious/more loving than Bangel then seriously you must have watched another show.
Nope. Same show, but quite probably very different premises about the meaning of the word "love". 😉

As for the sex...you know I had this idea lately...Buffy and Angel want each other so much(Buffy was willing to live the rest of her life with him even if she couldn't make love with him) and they love each other even if they made love just once.So this is mental and soul connection.
Or just a mental fixation they find themselves unable to break away from even though it's leading nowhere? (Like I said, I see Bangel as the teen-rated equivalent of S6 Spuffy.)

Spuffy on the other hand was mostly based on sex.Thay started that way and they hated themselves for it.
You do know S7, right? Not very much sex going on there between B&S, yet there's more love than Buffy had with any other guy in her life. That, and not the dark dysfuntionality that happened in S6, is the love we Spuffies are talking about.
Saying Spuffy is mostly based on sex is akin to saying Bangel is mostly based on Angel vamping out and drinking Buffy's blood. :tongue05:

Just take a look at Buffy's face before she kisses Angel...did you see it? She drops the Scythe, the world disappears for her and she just wants to kiss him.
Which is pretty shocking. She should have matured enough to be over that, especially seeing that she has a real guy standing by her side at home now... But maybe the stress of the impending apocalypse was too much for her and her brains went bye-bye for a short moment. (sw)

As for the cookie dough analogy...if she didn't want to give him hope she wouldn't. She would have stopped talking and Angel would disappear in the dark.
Right. Her ex-boyfriend, who has a history of clinical depression, and who in his past only got out of decades of feeding from rats in the gutter because of her, walks away from her, possibly seeing her alive for the last time, ever. You really think it's out of the question she'd give him a polite lie to make him not completely collapse emotionally after she's gone?

So, do you really think that Buffy just had a crush on Angel? ok then this should end after "Angel" when she discovers that he is a vampire. But no, she feels much more, she knows he is a dark type of guy,but he has a soul and he uses it for good,to redeem himself,to help her.
A crush is no less intense than love, quite on the contrary. A crush sends you on a rollercoaster of emotion, while true love is calm strength, a solid rock in stormy sea. People to the stupidest and stubbornest things because of romantic delusions, and they keep in the thrall of crushes against all better knowledge. Not dropping Angel after "Angel" proves nothing either way by itself.

And in season 7, that Buffy is fully recovered from her "i wanna feel something" phase I certainly do not think she sees Spike as a sex toy anymore or romantically.
I agree to that part. There was no romance nor sex toy abuse in S7. (There was only love, pure and simple. 😛 )

She certainly felt flattered that spike wanted her so much but other than that there is no emotional connection.
Ok... no offense, but have you ever even seen "Showtime" or "Touched"? If you don't see an emotional connection there, I seriously wonder how you ever saw one between Angel and Buffy.

There is absolutely no canonical evidence to support that argument. Angel asked Buffy straight out if she was in love with Spike and her reply was that "he is in my heart". That hardly translates into I love him just as much as I love you.
See above as to the "not hurting the feelings of the clinical depressive guy you have that confusing crush on". 😉 Add to that the fact that Buffy is very hesitant about saying these words at all anymore, and the fact that she hasn't even said them to Spike himself, it would be very weird and OOC of her to answer "yes" to Angel's question, no matter what her feelings for Spike are.

Furthermore, she already said during that season that she loved Angel more than she would ever love anything in her life. She didn't say she would never love again but she would never love anyone as she much as she loved him.
Which, again, to me proves that she's caught in the wake of a crush she still hasn't fully recovered from. Comparing "sizes" of love is a very romantic notion; true love is love is love is love, no matter who you share it with. (I wish she had meant the sentence as "I'm not going as head over heels crushy with anyone ever again like I did with him"; sadly, I kinda doubt that's what she meant to say. That, to me, is where she indeed isn't done baking yet... 😉 )

Like I said before, regarding the sheer intensity of emotion, a crush beats true love any old day. So, Spike can call himself lucky if she won't "love him as much as she loved Angel". (Because we all know Spike deserves better than that, right? 😀 )

I love you, lol.

you seem to have an argument for everything Bangel-related.I admire and respect it but still don't agree with you about many things.
Where the hell did you pull that one out of? Even if that was the case, which we have been told a couple of times already in S8 that it isn't, how can you back up a statement like that?

There is absolutely no canonical evidence to support that argument. Angel asked Buffy straight out if she was in love with Spike and her reply was that "he is in my heart". That hardly translates into I love him just as much as I love you.

I don't buyyour theory for a second old man!

"So Buffy was just as in love with Spike as she ever was with Angel." was supposed to be "So Buffy was just as MUCH in love with Spike as she ever was with Angel." meaning the fact that she was in love with both men, not the degree, as in, she was definitely in love with both men. Sorry for the misinterpretation.

(Buffy's statement, I believe, and according to the closed caption and the text from the novelization, "Chosen," was, "I LOVED angel more than she would ever love anything in her life." Past tense. But that's nit picking, and has nothing to do with my statement.)

When Angel asked Buffy if she was in love with Spike, she probably thought that she was telling the truth as she believed it to be at that moment. The realization that she really loved Spike, was IN LOVE WITH Spike, didn't register until the moment when she realized that she was about to lose him. Sadly, too late for her to convince him of the truth of her statement. Spike denied it because it was such a sudden, unexpected announcement, that he was cought completely by surprise, and also because he knew that standing inside a crumbling cavern full of ubervamps wasn't either the time or the place to have a discussion about romance. He was dying, he knew it, and he didn't want to be the cause of Buffy dying as well.

And my theory is entirely my own, based on what I saw and how i interpreted it. You may accept it or deny it (and you seem to be in the denial camp) but it's completely free to everyone, no charge. So you don't have to buy it. Young girl.

Hehe. I think we're so far off-topic now there's no going back.

I really like reading you and Kean's debates. They're very interesting. Both of you are so passionate about your 'ship and have such good arguments. I *heart* you two. 🙂

The Spuffies will never back down. At the end of the day, no matter who Buffy chooses in the end (if anyone) we still think Spuffy was more interesting. It's really as simple as that. That's why there's tons more Spuffy fan fiction sites then there are Bangel ones.

So, guys...anymore scenes you'd like to delete from the canon if you could?

I would have deleted the entire episode "The Girl In Question," or at least any mention of the mysterious Immortal. He has haunted my thoughts ever since he was first mentioned. I have half a dozen theories as to what he is, and I was really hoping to finally find out in Season 8, then we find out that Roman Buffy is only a ringer. There are times when I absolutely HATE Joss Whedon.

Wait a minute. Theory Number 7. The Immortal is a shape shifter, which is how he can appear to be the man of every woman'd dreams, and it's really him who is Twilight, and he just looks like...Yeah, that could work.

yeah...Buffy with the Immortal in Rome was unacceptable IMO.I am glad it was proven that, that girl wasn't real Buffy
