Episodes that make you sad...

I was just wondering what episodes of BtVS or AtS make you really sad when you watch them? I only ask as I'm watching a hole in the world and it got me thinking.

Mine would be:
- The Gift
- Your Welcome
- A hole in the world

They all make me cry a lot but I love them so much too.

Becoming part 2

Hell's Bells- Anya walking down the aisle

A Hole in the World- Fred dying I think is the saddest thing in the entire Buffyverse. Not just her death, but the fact that they don't know what happened to her soul. At least in everybody else's death they hold out the hope that their soul is "at rest". With Fred, that's not so.
Lullaby- Darla sacrifices her life for her baby. And I always start bawling my eyes out at this:
Darla: Angel, I don't have a soul. It does. And right now that soul is inside of me, but soon, it won't be and then...
Angel: Darla...
Darla: I won't be able to love it. I won't even be able to remember that I loved it. I want to remember.

A Hole In The World, it's the only episode that really makes me sad.
I get upset over Seeing Red and The Body too, but it's nothing to A Hole In The World.
 
Has no one mentioned Innocence yet? My heart breaks in that episode every time. I love it 'cause it's genius... but I have to brace myself when i watch it 'cause it's so sad. Same with Becoming part 2. Poor Buffy.

Oh, I can't believe I didn't think about this one...absolutely heart wrenching! 🙁
 
"Empty Places." In all of the bad, tragic moments in her life as the Slayer in Sunnydale, she could always count on her friends to lend her strength and support. Finally, at the time when she needs them the most, those same "friends" betray her to the point of throwing her out of her own home. Luckily, she has a mortal enemy who will always have her back.
 
The episodes that make me sad now? Even when I rewatch them for the tenth time? Hummm...

A Hole in the World and Shells always get me. Shells even more so because the aftermath of Fred's death is almost harder to watch than her real death. The scene at the end of Shells when they play "Like A Rolling Stone" and show her stuff animal? Oh, man. I can't even take it.

Others:

The Gift (my favorite BtVS episode, actually)
Waiting In the Wings (Okay, probably not meant to be sad, but at the very end? When Fred chooses Gunn and Wesley is all sad puppies? KILLS ME)

Lineage (Wesley's dad . . . . oh, dude, anything involving Wesley in pain makes me sad)

And pretty much whole season 6 is depressing and makes me cry..
 
I'm trying remember episodes that made me sad.

Bargaining part 2 made me cry. That reuniting of Dawn & Buffy when Buffy comes back to life. And their on that thing that Glory's minions made in season 5.
 
There are lots of sad episodes, but only a few make me sad or rather awkward.

These are Passion, The Body, Wild At Heart and Innocence.
Passion not so much because of Jenny's death, but because of the grief and pain that Giles suffers.
 
Dead Things. Like Times a Million.

And The Body.

I think those are my big two.

The Gift doesn't make me sad so much as fill me with a really strong sense of pride. In our hero.
 
I'm only partway through S5 on my re-watch, so this is what I remember:

Everyone always says how sad The Gift makes them, but I never feel sad at that one for some reason. I think it's because Buffy is finally at peace, figured out what the First Slayer meant, and really fulfilled her destiny. Plus, I knew the show was coming back, so she couldn't REALLY be dead. 🙂
 
So many episodes make me sad. Joss is the king of tweaking the emotions of his viewers. That, and I'm a big cry baby.

There are more Angel ones probably, but there are many episodes of Angel I have only seen once, and not for a long while. But I shall rectify this as soon as possible.
 
The Body and A Hole in the World are probably the worst, as they deal with the deaths of characters I've known for a while. The Body is especially sad, as I can relate to what Buffy was going through.
