Episodes that most people don't like and you do

What? Wait a sec... You mean people don't like Checkpoint, Older and Far Away and The Girl in Question? Huh? I LOVE those episodes! Well... Older and Far Away I go back and forth on. I'm never neutral though. Some days I hate it and some days I love it. It really depends on my sister. If she's being an annoying bitca, I hate it because she's just like Dawn and it pisses me off. If not, I love it.

Checkpoint - awesome Buffy standing up to the council scene, funny Anya meets the council

Older and far away - ehm, hi Clem? Spike has pant-cramps, another Buffy b-day bash gone bad,"Well, 'cause, you know, sometimes we do something that seems like a good idea at the time, like, say, invoke the power of a musical amulet. And it turns out, you know, not so much."


The Girl in Question - it's Roman Holiday! But with Spike and Angel on a wild chase... could it get better? 😀

Older and Far away is my absolute favourite episode, however, until now, I have never heard anyone really say that they hate or love it.
 
Wait, people hate KBD? It's one of the most genuinely scary eps! ???

Aside from the usual suspects named already (makes me wonder though... "Beer Bad" gets mentioned so often here that it seems more of a case of "love it or hate it, no inbetween"), I'll have to confess to the real jaw-dropper once more, though. I love Inca Mummy Girl, it's one of my most watched eps of the show. 🙂

I love The Puppet Show, The Pack, I, Robot... You, Jane (It's pretty unpopular, isn't it?) and Doublemeat Palace!
Cool episodes. I don't care what everyone else says. It's a matter of taste.
There are also some popular episodes that I don't like that much.
 
Okay, if The Girl in Question is considered a disliked episode, then I guess I'll have to go with that one as my #1 'guilty pleasure.' I don't get the hate though (if there is any; so far I've only ever heard people say that other people don't like it). It's so damn funny! As Joss Whedon said during the Chosen commentary, Angel is at his best when he is being petty, and we get more than enough of that in this episode.

I like Go Fish, mainly for what it shows us about Buffy's place at SHS, and her interactions with Snyder and Jonathan.

I just rewatched Fear Itself, which I remember hating, but on this rewatch I found a lot of good stuff in it. That scene between Buffy and Joyce is very thought-provoking, beautiful.

SAME!!!!!! I was like basically crying and going "WHAT IS GOING ON?!" And then at the end I'm like "What the... HAHAHAHAHAHAH WOW." SO AWESOME!
I'm in the "hate no episodes" camp...they really are all good (perhaps different levels of good but still good), I think...

Beer Bad, Buffy vs. Dracula, the Zeppo and Doublemeat Palace would be top on my list of unpopular episodes that I love.

Teacher's Pet: I love the gender reversal between Buffy and Xander, and it was a good change having a virgin boy be the damsel and the blonde girl be the hero.

Killed by Death: The sexy Xander/Angelus scene and Xander facing down Angelus was really cool.

Go Fish: Filled with awesome Xander moments.

Where The Wild Things Are: Also, filled with awesome Xander moments.

Regarding the zeppo...I don't know why but it seems to be a love it or hate it one... I don't get the hate either. Xander really shines in that one!

I think, while there are no episodes I don't like, there are some that I find hard to watch, like "the wish" for example, where even though I know it's going to be ok, it all seems so hopeless I find myself just waiting for giles to break the necklace so I can exhale.

ITA about The Wish, it's kinda depressing, & not nearly as funny/witty as others. I prefer Doppelgangland.
I love the Smashed, Wrecked, Gone trio. And I like Beer Bad because if how Willow stands up for Buffy, and Xander too.

The only episode I can't sand is Living Conditions because I really can't stand Kathy. I like Willow's comment about Buffy being homicidal bitchy lol

Zoà«: maybe they are, but my friends who are into Buffy don't like them, and neither does my person.

Living Conditions is the only one I skipped on Netflix.
I have never understood the hate for Where The Wild Things Are. In a season full of Buffy-Riley and Willow drama with the infusion of Spike into the cast while still trying to make Giles relevent, there was little room for Xander and Anya. They both shined in the episode and saved the day. I feel like Anya the character is really found in this episode (she's hilarious!) yet it touched base with all the characters in where they were in that point in their lives. I just don't get the dislike at all. It's one of the episodes I look forward to on rewatches.

I had no idea people didn't like Buffy vs. Dracula! I love it in all its camp hilariousness!!! Plus I'm an epic Dracula fan (see sig 😉 )
One of my university lecturers showed a part of this ep in a Lit lecture too 😀

I also love Go Fish, especially the part when Cordelia thinks Xander's changed, and she professes that she still loves him, lololol, and then he walks up beside her xD

I also like The Zeppo & Doublemeat Palace, however, I'm with the Beer Bad dislike-club -- it has some nice moments, but not enough for me, and whilst I realise the reason I probably dislike Where The Wild Things Are is probably all the Briley sex, I'm not a fan :/

I love Buffy vs. Dracula!!
Just thought of one! I've seen dislike for "Why we fight" which I have to say was an episode I have always enjoyed. Perhaps I just have a Kinski related love for 'the Prince of lies', he cracks me up, but I doubt it. I guess I just like the story even though I'm not a big fan of Lawson 🙂
