What episodes from season 1 do you find too hard and too disturbing for you to watch during a rewatch? for me it's "I, Robot... You Jane". It's just a bit too creepy even for me as a fan of the 6th Season

I don't think I actively skip any episode when I set out to do a rewatch. There are a few here and there that I'm not fond of simply because they aren't very good (story wise, the only episode that really, truly pisses me off as a fan is "Inside Out" on Angel. But that's not because I find it disturbing), but none that frighten or disturb me.

Now, some are obviously closer to the edge than others. I don't find "Dirty Girls" disturbing, but it's an incredibly intense episode, where the viewer can very clearly feel a shift and departure from the regular feel of the series.

I don't care for "Normal Again", but that's more because I find it really, really weird than because I find it disturbing.

What disturbs you about Inside Out?
These are episodes that I don't find disturbing, but are hard to watch in that they are badly made, or the way they are directed is really frustrating: Earshot (probably just me but this episode seemed like it was high school movie material), Teacher's Pet, Get It Done, Touched, The Dark Age, Him, I robot... you jane, Provider, Go Fish, Expecting, the whole Uber-vamp arc, The Killer In Me, Lies My Parents Told Me... pretty much, a majority of season seven, the space between Sleeper (an underrated ep) and Dirty Girls (one of my all time favourites) is a mixed, generic bag. Not necessarily bad, but I struggle to sit through it all during a rewatch.

And for the disturbing reasons....
I hate rewatching Wrecked. It's painful to watch, especially the Dawn / Willow scenes. I've always had a soft spot for people who are suffering with addiction, etc but seeing Dawn hurt I was so angry at Willow, and she's one of my favourite characters.

I used to find episodes such as Dead Things and Dirty Girls disturbing, I remember rewatching Dirty Girls (okay, I promise I will eventually, stop talking about this episode) and I couldn't get past the car scene. But they are some fantastic metaphors and subtlety in these episodes that are worth rewatching, imo.

Also... Same Time, Same Place. That Gnarl demon made me feel physically sick for a good couple of hours.

And the awkward.... Him (I know I've said it, but um... Dawn cheerleading, anyone?), The Zeppo (not in a bad way though. It's just... certain scenes such as Cordelia's incredibly rude remarks, Xander trying to help.... )

Zeppo is one of my favorite episodes lol, when Xander walks in on Buffy and Angel having the whole Angel wanting to sacrifice himself conversation, classic lol.

But when it comes top episodes I didnt like watching nothing in season one was really over the top to me but in later seasons I found things that I didnt particularly like to watch. Mainly "Where the wild things are" because I hate Riley and him and BUffy were doing it basically the whole episode. And then basically any episode where Buffy and Spike were having sex I found pretty cringe worthy hahaha

No, I said I wasn't disturbed by it.

It pisses me off because it basically spits on four years worth of continuity, and makes absolutely zero sense. Honestly, I just pretend that Skip was lying about everything. Otherwise the entire series doesn't make any sense.

Yeah I understand, I don't really like the way they made it seem like every single occurrence in the series was leading up to that!

Well if we're strictly talking about Season 1.. not really. The Pack terrified me as a kid though.

Disturbing...? Hmm.. Passion, Hush, Normal Again, Conversations with Dead People, Dirty Girls

Haha, crap. I missed the S1 part.
Oh crap missed the season 1 part too... oh god, sorry... wow I'm so embarrassed... okay The Pack (poor Herbet and Flutie!) , Teacher's Pet and I Robot, You Jane.

Mostly Nightmares... The beginning, with the spiders... Else than that well, I didn't find any episode particularly difficult to watch...

Now if you really want disturbing, I'd say Hush... I waited a good 5 years before watching this episode again...

I don't find any episode particualrly hard to watch because they disturb me, but a few I don't watch because they make me extremely emotional, such as "The Gift", "Normal Again", or "Seeing Red."

Season 1-wise, the only one that 'scared' me, per say, was the clown bit in "Nightmares" and that's only because I have a lifelong fear of clowns

haha totally agree with the emotional thing! It's like I'm knowingly torturing myself when I watch them! :P
Nightmares, the "demon" genuinely scared me the first time I watched it, I used to skip it on a rewatch but stopped doing that after a while!

I don't have any eps I dread watching, except "the gift". But I still watch it because its brilliant. From angel, I can't stand the ending of "dont fade away" so difficult when Wesley dies.

Any episode that makes me sad, lol, depending on what mood I'm in of course 😉 Oh and Seeing Red for obvious reasons.

Not from S1. Of all the 144 episodes the only one I skip is "The Body". It is far too raw and real and hits very close to home for me to sit through it without discomfort. That is really a compliment to Joss' writing mastery. 😉

Nothing. When I do a rewatch, I watch everything (if I can). For the "Unofficial Re-watch Thread" I had to skip a few season 1 episodes, because I was too busy, but I always want to watch everything.

The only S1 episode I really don't like watching is Never Kill a Boy On the First Date. Not because I find it disturbing, but because I think it kind of sucks. Even the title is awful.

I don't like teachers pet or nightmares much either, but i would rather watch either one of them than Never Kill a Boy.

As for other seasons, I have only watched Normal Again once, and I don't think I will ever watch it again!

Sometimes I find it kind of hard to watch "Amends" because of Buffys god awful fringe 😛
But all that Bangel-y goodness makes up for it in the end 🙂
