The episode was SO incredible! It was even better than I thought it'd be, which is saying a hell of a lot, since I had really high expectations for it.
Felicia and the little girl who played Molly on Heroes were amazing! In fact, I almost think the Molly girl made an even better Caroline than Eliza. But in spite of the other great performances, neither of them stole the show...that was Amy Acker's job. And good god, Amy was absolutely brilliant. I seriously couldn't get over how flawless her performance was. And at the end, when Whiskey sacrifices herself so they can escape? Ugh, my poor heart! I kept telling myself I wasn't gonna cry, but I succumbed 🙁.
The cinematography was great, too. And it was VERY Battlestar Galactica-y...at times, I almost thought that I was watching Battlestar, which I have no problem with, since I looove the way BSG is shot. I guess it was just the gritty atmosphere and shaky camera movements and loud drums in the music that did it. And I can't believe it cost about half as much as a regular episode...it looked like it cost a lot MORE than the rest of the season!
And, to end on a much shallower note, mmmm, Victor looked gorgeous in this episode! I wish he had been in it more, because every time he was onscreen, all I could think was, "(sw)".

Ah, couldn't resist. Had to watch it. One of the best eps, right? If not the best.
So...who was in the girl when she was revealed as evil? Did I miss that? Just some random uploaded person? The way it was edited, they cut from the kid's face in the chair to Adelle's face in the next scene, so I was thinking it was Adelle. Also thought maybe it was gonna be "Mr Ambrose" or even Alpha.
Pretty much everything about it was great...the only bit that seemed somewhat cheesy to me was Topher's guilt ridden mental breakdown scene with Adelle. I get what Joss was going for though. Also that maudlin pop song at the end felt a little wrong to me...not sure what I would've replaced it with.
But yeah, very Battlestarish, chaotic feel. Good stuff.

There was so much in it, though, that just made no sense. There was too much thrown together and while you got a basic idea, you still were left wonder W.T.F. is going on? It was hard to follow in some points. Not the acting, but the writing. I think when they cut the episode and put it together, they left out some stuff that might have helped explain it more.
For instance, there was no explanation for why Boyd was randomly leaving, why Whiskey no longer had scars, what the relationship was between Caroline and Paul that she would respond the way she did to the "Together" question, and stuff like that.
That said, I was very, very impressed with the acting in this episode. Maybe because we didn't have Eliza Dushku trying to play loads of different people. But there was excellent acting inespecial on the parts of Amy and Felicia.
This was, however, without a doubt the most interesting episode of Dollhouse. It had the best (and most consistent) acting out of the entire season. I'll gladly watch a Dollhouse where Caroline is much less annoying in the form of a little girl who can actually act, and with Felicia. 😉 It had some of the best dialogue and writing in the entire season.

Just saw it and WOW my new favorite episode of Dollhouse! Everything about it was just pure awsomeness. Not only would it had served as a good series finale if the show werent picked up but I also hope that this is expanded on sometime since the show was picked up. It ended on a cliffhanger so I want to see and know more!
While there were a lot of things that werent explained during "the past" it is suppose to be that way. They couldnt give us all the answers incase the show was picked up and well they didnt have enough time to fill in all of the blanks. This just gives us more to explore for future seasons. If the show goes on for future seasons I am sure some of those scenes will be answered. Just look at it as a "soon to come" feature.
I dont think you have to worry since that was a lot of people who wouldve been dead. Plus Caroline hopes that her actual self if still alive. I wouldnt be surprised if it were made by a crazy topher. But someone put it there before Caroline lead everyone to "safe haven". I was really hoping to see safe haven just to see all of the former charecters.
Only thing I wouldve changed is the future date. Its set in 2019 right? I probably wouldve set it for 2013-2015 since the show will never be able to actually hit that year unless they jump forward basically a whole decade.

I thought it was a great episode. Probably my favorite so far. So many new and interesting questions for us to ponder now.
- What happened with Dominic and Adelle after she brought him out of the attic?
- How exactly did Alpha help create safe-haven and why?
- Boyd never came back for Claire/Whiskey. What happened? And why did he leave?
- Who was it in the girl when they first found her? The person that shot the showergirl? Sounded like someone that was quite familiar with the imprint process.
- What's Claire's 'long story' about getting her scars removed?
- What happened with Dominic and Adelle after she brought him out of the attic?

This was definitely a great episode. But, I actually have to say, I don't blame FOX for not airing it. The casual viewer would have been extremely confused, wondering if they missed something, and also wondering why the next season goes back to before this episode.
Anyhoo, there was a lot to take in, I need to rewatch...but I gotta say this episode made me love the show even more. I'm very much hoping the show is given its full run so we can fully explore the things in between "Omega" and "Epitah One" as well as see what happens afterwards.

Not necessarily. LOST does this sort of out-of-sequence story-telling all the time and has been quite successful. I have to say I'm not the world's biggest Dollhouse fan but this episode was pretty great. This is, in my opinion, the way the whole show should have been written. Hopefully, it's an indication of big changes to come next season. I do blame FOX for not airing it. They may think they're sparing casual viewers some confusion but so much information was given in this episode that viewers are either going to be lost later due to having not seen it, or they're going to have to basically repeat a lot of this information in later episodes, which would be redundant and a drag for those of us who've watched it.
Anyway, WAY better than the limp television "season finale."

Careful! I didn't say Alpha made Safehaven. Although, Caroline's exact words were, "No one's been imprinted there yet. We have Alpha to thank for that." So, somehow he, knowing or unknowingly, helped. I'm actually under the assumption that Alpha is STILL a very chaotic character in terms of good vs evil at this point and that he probably unknowingly helped them.

I wasn't going to bother watching it and then decided to and boy am I glad I finally watched it. It was not what I expected at all but I loved it. To see everyone still in it but most in flashbacks only giving us little hints of what happens was really interesting. I loved Caroline a lot more as a person in this episode than others I've seen her in. Even if she was imprinted in a little girl at the end.
I love the twists and turns it and my heart was breaking for almost everyone from Sierra and Victor down to Topher and Adelle. The ending with Whiskey, almost had me in tears, thats what you call a sad ending to a great character who hasn't technically gone yet. I really can't wait to see season 2 now and find out what really happens and hopefully we'll get some more blanks filled in along the way.

Wow, I am really impressed.
I liked the rest of the show but that one episode to me is better than the entire season.
Some really great ideas and Topher and Adelle, and Whiskey were brilliant and heartbreaking.

I was really worried as to were the show was gonna go,I had a few guess, and I wasn't mad on any of them, so I was worried the upload, mission, flash and repeat system was gonna get real old, but knowing thats the direction we are heading is amazing.
I'm so excited for more Dollhouse, I love that Caroline will be able to be herself and hold the doll memories also, while working undercover inside the DH, thats gonna be so cool!
Can you imagine if it hadn't been renewed and thats what we were left with as a final.
Although it may be a bit annoying to go back so far into the past, we'll be waiting for this stuff to happen!
