Not sure if this affects anyone outside of the US or not, but Epsilon is a large company that handles many internet databases, for banks, online storefronts etc. The first of the month their system was hacked and some email addresses and personal information was stolen. They claim this will only affect 2% of the business, but who knows if that is correct. I have gotten an email from Chase bank and a few others warning of clicking links or providing any important information from an email.

They advise if you have questions go directly to the companies website.

I have just gotten a phishing email from 'fed-ex' (that looked VERY convincing) not sure if it is related to this hack or not, so be careful all you people out there in cyberland.

I have had my credit cards cloned twice, it's not a pleasant thing!
 
Same, zobo. I got that email from collegeboard a few days ago. They said only email addresses and names were stolen, but then again people can do a lot of damage with just that. Didn't know about all the other companies Epsilon is involved with though...ugh. Crap.

my email said they got my test scores and the card I paid for the SAT with.
I just got that notice, too. Not impressed. :/ 2% is a lot, I think a lot of companies use this service.

It's not just that they got names and information, it's what can be done with that. For instance, I could send you an email saying prophecygirl, on such'n'such date (one completely made up), there was a charge on x credit card (which I stole) at x school bookstore (which I stole) the previous charge was for x (which I stole) can you please verify you made this purchase or not, and provide a link (like the email I got today was for fedx and not fedex) you get it, and dont really think and click the link...

It's not the information that they have, it's what can be done with it to make you believe their email is valid and legitimate.
 
I also got an email from CollegeBoard about it... Kind of frightening, really.

I got an email about this from Beachbody and Target; apparently both companies use them for the email databases. Bluh... Hopefully I won't start getting bombarded with lots of crazy stuff.
 
I just got a phone call from an Indian man who wanted confirmation about an order from Home Depot...he said all this in a voicemail cause I didn't answer when he called.

WTF man??? Does this mean they have my info?! I have never bought anything from Home Depot & now I'm freaking out.
