Equal Opportunity 'Shippers

I wanted to start a thread for those of us who are either undecided about whether they're a Bangel or Spuffy, love both ships, or lean toward one but have a great appreciation for both.

I myself am probably more of a Bangel at heart, but I really love both. I'm on my 3rd rewatch, and just started season 4 Buffy/season 1 Angel. So, there's been a lot of Bangel in my life thusfar, and my overall opinion may change as we get into Spuffy territory. I'm also someone who can appreciate some of the criticisms of each 'ship. I just like each for different reasons.

Anybody else out there? Don't leave a girl hangin'! :smile3:

Well, first, I love your banner! It's perfect for this thread, and shows really well how important both men are to her. Second, I wish I could enjoy both. For some reason, I feel guilty everytime I find myself enjoying a Bangel moment. I don't know why! I'm just a very loyal shipper, I guess. Besides that, a lot of things frustrate me about Bangel, and I usually end up thinking, "I'm going to watch this episode for Spuffy instead." I just find Spuffy much more interesting.

I'm not sure if I count but I'm indifferent to both. I'm all about the cookie dough. I enjoyed both ship at the time but I'm more invested in the characters moving on.

I enjoy Bangel and Spuffy.

Both have their good things and their, eh, not so good things, but don't most ships?

As far as Bangel and Spuffy go, I see the good and bad in both couples. I'm a very romantic person, though, so I do find myself getting caught up in the romance of Bangel a lot which is why I tend to make more Bangel artwork. But when watching the shows, I am on the fence about who I prefer. And I intend to stay on the fence 'cause I like them both. 😀

I totally belong in this thread! for years I haven't been able to decide!!!! I am however starting to lean more towards Bangel because of all the romantic stuff. But Spuffy is just sooooo bad ass. And like Kana said, I want them to move one. I just started season 2 of Angel and I really want him to be with Cordy.

I consider myself more of a Spuffy but I can't deny the cute Bangel moments in the early seasons. I actually loved them until I really saw Spuffy for what it was. Most of the time though I like to appreciate both the relationships I enjoy doing art for both. I can see the good and bad in both. LOL there are just a lot of reasons why I lean more toward Spuffy being their relationship and another being I am more of a cangel. Ah the dilemma.

I have to admit. I do like watching Bangel in s1 and s2, and I'm a Spuffy shipper. It was a young, innocent, first love that many experience when we were that age (at least I did, lol). But, for me, that's where it ends. Bangel didn't work for me in s3. Then, from "After Life" onward, I really became a loyal Spuffy shipper. I can appreciate what Bangel had, but at the end of the day, my loyalty is to Spuffy. 🙂

I am definitely not a Cangel (although that, too, may change in this rewatch), although I like both characters & like some of their moments together. You're Welcome is awesome. But I would have liked to have seen Kangel (Kate+Angel) and Coyle.

Totally agree with Vision Girl, I'm not a Cangel and I never will be but that out of the way... I love Bangel with a passion but I also liked Spuffy in S7. Spike is very, very important to Buffy but not as much as Angel. I'm a very loyal Bangel for the most part. I want Angel to either be with Darla, Buffy or alone, not with anyone else (But I wouldn't mind Kate+Angel) and I want Buffy to end up with Angel. Doesn't mean she can't have a relationship with Spike it just means she should end up with Angel in the end.

I know exactly what you mean! I definitely wanted to see Kangel, but then with the whole Kate's father thing and all that(i don't know what happens after season 1), and Cordy defending Angel all the time it just made me automatically shift my thoughts. Although I must say that Coyle was my first choice. I wanted to cry so bad after what happened to Doyle!

I agree with you on the fact that no one counts Briley. I personally hated them together with such a passion. He was so judgemental and just so annoying to me. To be honest, I don't really know why anyone would ship Briley. To be fair though, i admit that the relationship could have worked out somehow. I mean, it wasn't the only effed up ship. Bangel and Spuffy were also very effed up.

Honestly, I agree with Icarium. While I see some of the appeal for both ships, I think neither Angel nor Spike is right for Buffy in the end. And that's not just the Faith/Buffy shipper in me, they wouldn't work either. What's wrong with her staying single and meeting another man sometime?

You can say that when I watch the first seasons, I really feel for Bangel and their tragic love story. But as the seasons go on, it kind of changes. Season 3 Bangel annoyed me. They break up every episode and go back together the episode after. That killed. And it's not like I don't like the spuffy moments in the first seasons (as much as you can call it spuffy - is it spuffy if they're just trying to kill each other? because I really enjoy that too!). I look at them then and look at them now and chill. In a good way.
Once I reach season 5 and there starts the real spuffy, I realize I love spuffy much more, and I'm like: "Angel who?". I actually compare the two ships and find that I enjoy Spuffy better. But I'll admit that Bangel seasons 1-2 are great, not boring. After that it's what I don't like. Though I enjoy Spuffy at all seasons (besides season 1, you know why).
