Does anyone else think Eurovision is pointless and embarresing. I think Ireland were entering a turkey puppet into the competition(i think) and that is just idiotic.

It is pointless and embarresing. It´s why it can be fun to watch.

I´ve heard the irish song. In my opinion it was just awful.

I really enjoyed watching the Eurovisions last night actually! I thought Bosnia got robbed! Without something a little bit different like the Bosnians song it would have been boring. Can anyone tell me what they were actually singing about though? And yes, loved Tom Wogan, I'm very glad we got the English import version of Eurovision!

I was able to find a translation of the Bosnian lyrics. It's not the best, but then again, the song Is difficult to translate and loses much of its charm in English (IMO) so I'm glad they decided to stick to Bosnian in the end:

I also really, really liked France and Turkey. The rest was rubbish; I thought Russia was among the worst :s.
I agree with what most of you have said, at this point there seems to be less competition and more voting for your neighbors, but Eurovision has been heading in that direction for a long time now. I still watch every year, mostly so I can laugh about the ridiculousness of it all. I don't take it seriously, it's just fun to watch (well, it was, lately it's been getting progressively annoying).

Dont care for Eurovision at all, but I always wondered if there any rules stopping decent pop bands and singer like Adele etc from Reperensenting U.K. I swear Adele - Hometown Glory would murder at Eurovision.

I just doubt any serious or half decent artist would degrade and humiliate themselves by entering
such a ludacris competition. Going up against turkeys and viking warrior bands! Will young should enter.

It's all political. Terry Wogan nails the voting every year, because everyone always votes for the same people. Song quality be damned, there's no point anymore. We could enter someone truly brilliant, an established British artist, someone like Coldplay or the Fratellis, and I still bet we'd lose (albeit with by a lesser margin though) A waste of time nowadays.

Yeah I agree with what Colin Murray said on the radio the other night. We could have Cliff Richard singing, Phil Collins on the drums and Brian May on the guitar we still would not win!!!
