Just finished watching it together with Shempy... I hope that's the founding evening of a yearly tradition for us. ^^ I'd have liked it more though if some of the weird/crazy songs would have made it through the semi-finals. The wackos in garish costumes are usually the best part of the show... 😛
Neither Shempy nor me liked the winning song from Norway overly much... no idea why pretty much all of Europe seemed to LOVE it.
We cheered for Estonia (who at least ended up among top ten) and Moldava (who ended up midway through the tally - but at least they got two of the very few 12er votes that didn't end up with Norway). Besides, the Moldavian chick was a redhead with a green minidress - you all know I'd root for her, right? 😛
And as for Germany - we ended up in the bottom third of the tally, as usual, but at least we didn't finish with ZERO this year again. *cough*Gracia*cough* 😀

Absolutely true... and Shempy was worrying that (plexi-)glass thingy would break or otherwise come crashing down. Now THAT would have been an ESC night to talk about for decades to come! :aah:
It was pretty lame, and still ended up on 5th place. Go figure.

I was cheering for Dita, the guy from Azerbedjan (or however you spell that) who wore the awesomest jacket I've seen in quite some time, and the least hairy Greek of his age I've seen in quite some time. Other than that, it was much of the same as the years before.
Oh, and I got really angry at the Dutch woman who was giving the votes. Yolanthe Cabau van Casbergen. I hate her with a fiery passion.

Seriously Norway won? I remember months ago newspapers in Denmark were saying it would win because it was international favorite. Strange...I didn't think it was that good.

So now we're three here already who didn't like it too much. (And paperdoll at least didn't like it best of all songs, either ^^ ) I wonder if it just missed "geek appeal", as it won a landslide victory in the votes but on this site here, it doesn't get much appreciation. 😉
Or maybe it's just hated by people who are close to Shempy. :lmao:

^I know. But it so wasn't the best one . Johnny Deluxe wrote and performed "Insane"(Sindssyg) about a girl making him nuts with love. It was awesome. And then there was Sugar Chock. They were pretty awesome too...But of course the song won because Keating had written it. IT'S NOT FAIR

I don't think Norway was that great and wow Finland was the last one (I believe), while being in 2006 (?) first one yet... Weird. The song "It's My Time" from Jade Ewen was quite lovely, she remind me on Leona Lewis etc.
