So, the Emergency Broadcast System suddenly popped up on television screens recently, informing Los Angeles residents to evacuate the city IMMEDIATELY. Guess what? It was a mistake. Ooops! 😅

Los Angeles County accidentally sent out the evacuation order, which was received by some Ventura County residents, officials said. It came as wildfires tore across California, including the Route Fire near Castaic.

An evacuation order telling residents to leave Los Angeles immediately was accidentally broadcast on television Wednesday, authorities said.

The notice "was sent in error by the County of Los Angeles," the sheriff's office said in a tweet shared in English and Spanish.

It is not clear how many viewers saw the alert, which read: “Emergency alert system. A civil authority has issued an IMMEDIATE EVACUATION NOTICE for the following counties or areas," according to Bloomberg.

A week ago or so, a region here in Sweden had an alert went out on the radio warning people about an incoming airstrike.

Not that anyone cared of course. Think everyone just took for granted that it was a mistake. lol
I know I would have too.

No one seems to know how it happened either. It's just sad to see how these things seems to become more and more frequent with more technology.
Automation is gonna be the end of us...

Could be worse. Hawaii accidentally received a ballistic missile launch alert in January of 2018. Fortunately no one was killed although one man did have a heart attack.

8:07am: BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.

8:45am: There is no missile threat or danger to the State of Hawaii. Repeat. False Alarm.

I imagine the line to the woodshed was long that day.

What they didn't say when telling folk to evacuate was, the only they could go was Los Vegas a place where they could get the balls to spin around, where the dealer deals you a bad hand but gets to keep her job. Makes you wonder if its worth leaving home?
