Eve Questions

I wonder if Lindsey is going to turn out to have super powers?

I hope not. It will seem kind of cheesy. He's much more interesting when he survives on his wits.

I've edited the thread title to remove Lindsey from it. As it is still classed as a Spoiler for the UK. You may put something else in as long as its not about Lindsey. Remember that even though someone chooses not to enter this forum the thread titles are visable via the 'view new posts function.'

Sorry about that. (I'm thinking of changing my name to "Sorry about that" BTW. It will save time.)

Speaking of Eve questions though; In Life of the Party Lorne says to Eve and Angel "Sheesh, get a room you two". That comment was part of the story structure in that episode, but didn't it also suggest Lorne (the empath demon) picked up a certain amount of sexual tension between Eve and Angel? Doesn't it seem like Eve has been puppy dogging Angel around the office ever since?

Is there a possibility Eve may do a Goldfinger-Pussy Galore and switch allegiances to Angel? If so, won't that stick in Lindey's craw and burn? He didn't like it when Darla chose Angel over him. What's he going to think if a girl he got there first with, also chooses Angel?

My question is, why would Eve and Lindsey go through all this trouble to carry out whatever is their plan? If Eve slipped that box in a mail cart to be sent to Spike and if she also had that guy tell Spike and Angel about the Cup, she might've expected for Angel to go after it right away and for Spike to try to beat him there. At the same time, she might've had the planted something to cause people to cry blood and go crazy. That, she might've thought would set the Senior Partners into a frenzy trying to figure out how to stop it. Also, after Gunn tells Eve how much he doesn't trust her, he's crying blood and going crazy. If Eve did that, it would, of course, have him sent away, which mean he can't watch her actions closely, and when everyone's not looking, she can carry out her plan. Just a theory.

Since you posted that nice picture of Lindsey i'll let you off 😉 Those that didn't post here when Lindsey was still around wouldn't know that i'm well slightly obsessed with him 😀

Actually there's a much bigger question that needs to be asked about Lindsey -

Are we sure it really is Lindsey? I mean, yeah, I know it's Christian Kane, but has he been written into the storyline as Lindsey or possibly as a whole new character? A friend of mine said she saw something somewhere that his name was Shane or Shawn or something like that. Does anyone know?

And this would beg the question, "What was the plan". What did E&L actually accomplish?

Was it all about shutting down the conduit, so Wolfram & Hart was disconnected from the Senior Partners, thus leaving the company vulnerable for a takeover, or something?

I couldn't help myself. I peaked at just enough of your spoiler to see the question. It was "Is it the real Lindsey?" I'm assuming concrete proof doesn't exist yet, or there would be no need to ask the question, so I'll continue speculating. Considering this is the speculation forum, maybe that's the way it shoud be.

Personally, I'll be disappointed if it's not the real Lindsey.

I peeked too - couldn't help it. And to answer your question i'm not sure, as long as CK is there, I don't care what or who he is, good or bad 😀

I've posted something like this before, but... Why would Joss cast Christian Kane for a
character other than Lindsey?
. Lindsey is already well-known and there's no need to confuse the fans. There was also a thread mentioning about Lindsey giving Spike
the alias "Sean"
because Spike has never met Lindsey...

Here's another slightly begging question: Why did Eve set up Gunn's meeting to become super lawyer? I mean, she said it was because he was the only one with unused potential. But could there be more to it than that? Could Gunn possibly join Eve and Lindsey's side in the end? I mean, there's no telling what they filled his head with. Just a question I've been asking myself lately ...

Could Gunn possibly join Eve and Lindsey's side in the end?

Yeah that one would be a surprise. It wouldn't surprise me to see Gunn turn, but to join E&L would be a surprise, because he's so in love with the big cat in the white room. I was expecting him to turn to the W&H side.

I just had this other really wild thought that might be an even bigger surprise.

What if Lindsey's a cyborg? Fred said those cyborg's really blur the line between machine and human. Sex? Not impossible.

Or, what if Eve's a cyborg.

In fact...didn't Eve give Spike a funny little, knowing smile when he said "Sex with robots is more common than most people think" ?

A scenario: In S2, Lindsey wanted to get out of W&H and Angel sort of encouraged him. Let's say that this is really Lindsey and not a cyborg or his twin brother (now that's a thought...). Lindsey arrives in L.A. again to find that Angel is now CEO of the same law firm that Angel had told him to get out of. Basically, Lindsey wanted to become CEO one day and the job was just offered to Angel right away. Linddsey'd be upset, right? So he teams up with someone who has connections. Someone who works for the Senior Partners. Someone like... Eve. They can work together to corrupt Angel...

Yeah, but that would make too much sense.

Angel the Series is due for it's annual bit of stupidity, like when Connor came back as a teenager, and boffed Cordelia.

I just watched the ep again. Caught a couple things this time that slipped past me the first time.

Harmony tells Spike the box is heavy. When they open the box, it's empty.

Later when Eve is filling in Lindsey on the happenings at W&H she says, "And by the way, Spike didn't kill Angel".

It would seem E&L expected Spike to win the enevitable fight. Is it possible they Spiked Spike with extra power to make him stronger than Angel?

Another question is, why would they want Angel gone? Lindsey might want to work his way back into W&H or Eve has other plans. The classic "we'll work together on this... you get half and I get half." Then, Eve turns on Lindsey... If Lindsey hooked up with Eve to get back into W&H, assuming he's the mastermind behind all this, he has Eve doing all the dirty work.

Did Eve slip the box into a mail cart to be sent to Spike? Or did a Higher Power do that? Is Eve really working with Lindsey, or does she, or do they both, work for the Senior Partners. Eve claims to be working for the Senior Partners, but maybe she's not human and she killed all the SPs... or maybe Lindsey is a Senior Partner... The Heads of W&H must be working to corrupt Angel... so why not Eve and Lindsey? Or... "Eve" is a shapeshifter of some kind took the form of the real Eve to get to Angel...

The list just goes on and on...

Again, that's the million dollar question. What are their plans? Do you have support for any theories? Theories are cool, but they're even better with support.

The classic "we'll work together on this... you get half and I get half." Then, Eve turns on Lindsey...

Or...Lindsey turns on Eve.

Personally, I'm still a fan of Eve deciding Angel is the better man, and turning on Lindsey to help Angel.

Did Eve slip the box into a mail cart to be sent to Spike?

That seems to be the popular opinion right now. You won't find many arguements.

Or did a Higher Power do that?

That's the one I'm hoping for, but I'm not optimistic.

Is Eve really working with Lindsey, or does she, or do they both, work for the Senior Partners?

If Lindsey is working with the Senior Partners, what are the tatoos, and the markings on the wall for?

Eve? That would be interesting. The old triple cross.

Eve claims to be working for the Senior Partners, but maybe she's not human and she killed all the SPs...

We know Eve is probably human, because Gunn notes she has to breath when he's choking her. That doesn't mean she can't have some kind of hidden power. It's unlikely she killed the SPs though, because she claims the senior partners stopped the problem with the universe spinning out of control in Destiny. This means Gunn is going to expect to have a chat with the cat. To suggest E&L will reinvent the cat starts to get silly.

or maybe Lindsey is a Senior Partner...

Again...tatoos.

The list just goes on and on...

Now you're getting it.

Okay, this is very confusing and question-packed, so I apologise if any of this post is reiterating what has already been said, or if it's confusing:

Gunn: We know that Eve sent him to get all lawyered up. We have no idea why. She said the Senior Partners saw he had unused potential. But maybe she sent him there for other reasons - maybe there is something else in his mind apart from the law stuff. Someone posted that Gunn may join Lindsey and Eve - i think this is very likely. Gunn may even be working against Angel and the rest of the team already without even knowing about it. If Gunn does join Eve and Lindsey, it won't really be of his own free will, therefore it should be an easy plot to resolve. Fix Gunn's mind, he's back with Angel. Unless something goes wrong and he ends up in a coma...

When Gunn is choking Eve, and he says she has to breathe therefore must be human, how do we know she wasn't faking it? She seems to have been faking afterwards when she acts all weepy with Fred. Maybe she's not human, and she was just trying to get sympathy out of Fred and co. to get them to like her and be less suspicious of her.

I think that Lindsey's plan is to bring down Wolfram & Hart. We know he tried to help Angel destroy them back in season 2, and to discover that Angel is now running W&H would make him very angry. So he wants to bring down W&H and Angel. Maybe they used magic to get Eve the prestigious position at W&H she occupies. Easy access to Angel, and the Senior Partners - easy to manipulate them and execute plans.

If Eve and Lindsay did bring Spike back, they must have been pretty efficient and fast workers. Think about it:

If Home takes place on Day 1:
Angel gives Buffy the amulet on Day 2:
Spike burns up on Day 3:
The events on Conviction take place about a week after Chosen. So within that week, Eve and Lindsay must have got the amulet out of the Hellmouth and got it to Angel. That also raises the question of if they got Angel to use the amulet in the first place. We don't know if Eve was employed by W&H while the events of Home took place. Maybe the Senior Partners had another plan for the amulet. Wow, now I'm really confused.

Wow, now I'm really confused.

Yeah I'm confused too. That's why I posted at the beginning of this thread, Lindsey's reappearance appears at first glance to be a resolution, but really it creates more questions than it answers.

Myself though, I get a kick out of trying to make sense of the unknowable, so it's a good confusion.

For what they're worth here's some of my thoughts on your thoughts.

Someone posted that Gunn may join Lindsey and Eve - i think this is very likely.

I confess I hadn't considered that until Sehkmet posted it. I had only considered Gunn turning to W&H. The way you describe it, it sounds interesting. You two have sold me. I'm hoping for that now too.

Now that I had considered. However...

Some possibilities create credibility for themselves by the very fact they exist in the story.

Having Gunn notice the fact Eve breaths is not really necessary to the present story. It's only purpose would be to convince the viewer Eve is human.

If the writers were to say at a later date Eve is not human, it makes Gunn's statement here nothing more than a non sequitor, red herring. To do this detracts credibility from the story. If they do it too much nothing really means anything, except the denouement, and that sucks.

Not that the writers wouldn't do it. They did it all over the place in Buffy Season 7. We still don't know why Annabelle ran from the Summer's house.

Angel season 5 is different though. Joss Whedon isn't distracted by the entire production of Firefly and Buffy this season. I'm hoping he's directing his personal attention to, and guiding the story of Angel Season 5.

My opinion based on previous Joss-guided season's of Buffy is Joss will spin the story in an unexpected direction, but he won't do it cheap. Eve might turn out to be something completely unexpected, but whatever she is, she'll breath. That's my prediction.

I think that Lindsey's plan is to bring down Wolfram & Hart. We know he tried to help Angel destroy them back in season 2, and to discover that Angel is now running W&H would make him very angry. So he wants to bring down W&H and Angel.

That would seem to be the most logical conclusion. You know what bothers me though? is the traditional bout of writer insanity that seems to strike Angel writers after the first season break. In Season 3 Holtz had stolen the baby, and we were all thinking Angel would have to go to the hell dimension to retrieve his child. It was the obvious conclusion, and what a story that would have been. What happened? Connor came back as a teenager. STUPID

Last season Connor Boffed Cordelia just before the break, and we're thinking this is crazy. They have to make sense of this after the break. What happened? They didn't make sense of it. They turned it into some kind of twisted romance.

I'm hoping they don't do the same thing here and go off in some kind of insane direction with Lindsey.

Again though...Joss is here this time. Hopefully Joss will protect us from writer insanity.

The events on Conviction take place about a week after Chosen.

I didn't know that. Traditionally things happen in real time. What did I miss? Does this mean things in Angel this season are actually supposed to be happening months ago?

That also raises the question of if they got Angel to use the amulet in the first place. We don't know if Eve was employed by W&H while the events of Home took place. Maybe the Senior Partners had another plan for the amulet.

Plus it was Lilah who gave Angel the Amulet. To organize Angel getting the Amulet they would also have to have hoodwinked, or corrrupted Lilah. I expect a return of Lilah. Don't you?

Here's another possibility. Have you noticed how Eve keeps mentioning she attended Santa Cruz university. Is it possible she met Lindsey there?

Actually, if you watch the first few moments of Just Rewards (which follows on from the last few minutes of Conviction), right before you see the flashback to Chosen the dialog on-screen reads "Sunnydale, California. The Hellmouth. Nineteen Days Earlier".

That would put the length of time between the amulet getting buried in the Hellmouth to it turning up at W&H at about 3 weeks. There's just some things about the chain of events I don't get.

Angel got the amulet from Lilah, so Lindsey couldn't have had anything to do with that. The senior partners had to know what would happen when the amulet was used, so who did they expect to get, Angel or Spike? And why send the package through the mail? If W&H dug it out, wouldn't they just bring it to Angel directly? It seems more logical that Lindsey had a hand in that, (no pun intended).

On the other hand, the package that made Spike corporeal distrupted the whole universe. So that's just as big a problem for the senior partners as anyone else. Therefore I'll assume Lindsey and Eve were behind that too.

My guess is Lindsey's just taking advantage of an opportunity that only recently presented itself. As for how Eve came to be involved without the senior partners knowing about it, that's a complete mystery.

P.S. I'm also not ruling out a connection between Lindsey and those cyborg assassins.
