Ok so I thought I couldn't rant about this on the 'Unpopular' thread since i'm pretty sure it is NOT 'unpopular' to think Eve was the most annoying character ever created on either show. What the hell was her use in s5 anyway? SP liaison my ass! She had no character, barely any personality, she was boooooring, and for someone that had the same role as Hamilton later on, she did seems pretty weak and useless.

Alright now that i've let out some anger(and sorry if I made anyone angry with my opinion), can anyone here give me one worthwhile reason she was even in the show?

She was the lameness. I hated her, I hated her so much. Every time she was on screen I wished she would go away quickly. Anyway, Eve sucked and Hamilton out-awesomed her in every way.

That didn't answer your question but this might: Lindsey needed an accomplice within the firm and, sadly, it was her.

I suppose they wanted another cute female in a powerful position. As well as a connection between Lindsey and the firm like Shanshu said.
But I agree, I don't hate Eve but I do dislike her. I didn't think she had much charisma at all and mainly found her irritating. Doesn't help I suppose that I don't find her attractive.

I was relieved when they replaced her with Hamilton, I kind of wish he would have been introduced sooner.

I think the point with Eve was to lull the AI team into a false sense of security. Obviously, things would have been much more fun if undead Lilah had stayed on, but that must not have been possible. Instead, the Senior Partners present AI with a toothless, wants-to-be-sinister-so-bad-it-hurts Buffy/Darlalike. There was no point when the gang felt like Eve would be able to overpower them, or stop them doing whatever the hell they wanted. And that's just what the Senior Partners wanted Angel to believe. When things started getting serious (but, more importantly, when AI was so firmly integrated into Wolfram and Hart that there was no going back), they replaced her with a slightly more...substantial model.

So, yeah, she was lame, but she was supposed to be. I quite like her, really.

Forget Eve. It's all about Lilah 😛

lol, maybe that's why I don't like her. Well, it's part of the reason anyhow.

I agree she was useless and pointless and lame.

Lilah! :)

I love you for saying that! You read my mind:)
I think Eve was supposed to replace Lilah as the "head bitch of the Senior Partners". And, as Lindsey said^^, I think she was put there to give the AI team a sense that they weren't being played. I didn't mind Eve at all, really... And the first time around I also really liked her and Lindsey together (though now they get on my nerves together). But yeah, I don't mind Eve. She's not my favorite character, but I liked the way Sarah Thompson played her. 🙂

Nice post, I like the whole toothless part 🙂 And let me point out you might be a lil biased about liking her and all *cough* *cough* 🙂

I have to admit I don't have any real love for Hamilton. He just seems like a stock villian, and I don't like how overwhelmingly masculine the show has become by the end of S5 - that's one thing I can say for Eve, at least - S5 is wanting for females, and at least Eve is one.

But clearly she's meant to be a whipping girl: a focus for AI's spite. I also think Sarah Thompson did as well as she could with the character, even if she's probably ATS's worst singer.

I liked Eve. (ducks from various rotten fruit and pointy objects)

I hated that she got to have sex with Angel. Absolutely HATED it. Want to pretend it didn't happen. Can't even watch that ep a second time.

But I liked the way she talked and liked hearing what she had to say. I liked how she was really young and innocent-looking but called people "sweetie" in a condescending way. I liked her relationship with Lindsey even though she lacks chemistry of any kind with everyone (same problem on 7th Heaven). You could tell she really did care for him (so sad when Angel tells her he's dead in Not Fade Away). I thought it was funny how freaked out she was by Hamilton and the gang thought it was because he was going to kill her and it turned out that he was just going to make her sign away her immortality.

She just comes off awkward and bland-looking and hard to peg. She's not blonde or brunette (somewhere in between). She doesn't look quite right in her clothes. She's not overtly sexy but not really mousy either. She's not a scientist or a warrior or a sorcerer. She isn't an extremely rude bitch or a timid wallflower. You don't hate or but you don't love her.

Just like my thought. :)

Are you french? You know your sig is right!?
I hated Eve, and I still do. She was pointless and pretty lame. And I love Lilah, and Eve is a bad replacement of her, in my opinion.

To be honest, I don't care about her enough to hate her.

I hate how she took Marcus spot in almost the whole season! He was much cooler and actually did more than annoy everyone appearing in their rooms... seriously wow! She's not even bitchy or anything, she's just an annoyance. They could have found a much better way to bring Lindsey into the story.

I thought she was funny at times did I hate her no did I love her no. But if she had to be there to help the Lindsey storyline I am cool with that because I love Lindsey.

I think I would like her more except that she came in right after Lilah and who the Hellmouth could ever live up to that?

As for her being the most annoying character, I point your attention to Kennedy. Do you really think Eve is more annoying than that?

Yes, Eve was more annoying. :(
I didn't like Eve much myself. I get that she was intended to be fairly toothless, and lull Angel and co. into a false sense of security, but she just wasn't interesting to watch, and grated on my nerves. I'm also not a fan of Lindsay's storyline in S5, so her role in that doesn't do anything to salvage her for me.

Also, Hamilton is overrated IMO. He's okay, but not especially interesting, and by this point in the shows' run I felt the super-strong unstoppable juggernaut type of villain was getting overused (the Beast, the Turok-Han, Caleb...even Jasmine after her glamour was broken).

I agree about Hamilton.
