I woke up this morning from one featuring both Angel and Lilah at Wolfram & Hart. I don't think I recognized anyone else, though the new people had depth, including one lawyer who had an adult son who became a mass shooter at the law offices, temporarily trapped to one floor along with others there.
There was a ritual to divine why the Senior Partners didn't protect them, and got a message from Below that the Senior Partners granted them their prayers, often saved them from terrible lives, and yet those the Senior Partners favored showed no real appreciation. God is worshiped for providing less, why can't they do something similar?
It had a strange feel of being like the 1970s (before I was born), though there was no clear date set. Women other than Lilah were strictly secretaries. I know it couldn't be made canon (at least not without a lot of changes). Both Lilah and Angel seemed to have the theme of being alone even when surrounded by people.
As people tried to escape the building, many surrounded Angel, but the morning sun was coming up and he couldn't go. The shooter was now shooting from a window at those trying to flee. Those with Angel fled to save themselves while he had to find a way to the sewers to escape the sun. Alone again, naturally. (There was no indication of Coredelia, Doyle, Wes, etc.)
And Lilah was also alone again, naturally.
There was plenty more that I can't quite remember. At some point one security guard sold magical body armor to another, and had to say a prayer that would turn away the attention of the Senior Partners...which the Partners noticed and were not pleased about, and a contributing factor why they were letting a mass shooter kill people. The spell also caused Lilah to nearly have a heart attack because she put her entire heart into Wolfram & Hart and the spell disrupted that connection that had become more real than Lilah herself realized.
I also recall that Lilah had a handgun that she was willing to use against the shooter (though only in self-defense, she had no intention of going after him) and was told that the shooter had cover and also a rifle, so her handgun wasn't going to be worth much, at least not from floor level. That kind of logic seeping into my dream is a sign that my brain is starting to wake up, and I did shortly after, just as Angel made it below LA.
This dream is kind of making me want to watch some old eps, seasons 1 and 2, of Angel.
