Eric-stein's monster : The plot of Some Assembly Required is drawn from classic Frankenstein B movies, especially the 1935 Bride of Frankenstein (tagline - Warning! The Monster demands a Mate!) starring Boris Karloff.
The book which introduced Frankenstein's monster, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelly's Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus was first published in 1818. It's usually credited as the very beginning of science fiction, so it's entirely worthy of this Buffy homage.
Of note as well is that Mary Shelly wrote Frankenstein with John Polidori while they vacated together in Geneva Switzerland during the 'year without a summer', John Polidori is widely regarded as the writer and originator of the Vampire story with the 1816 work ''The Vampyre'' which was inspiration for Bram Stoker's later, 1897 book 'Dracula'.
Weirder Science: Another source this episode draws on is the 1985 film Weird Science, where two bright but nerdy teenagers create the perfect woman, played by Kelly LeBrock. Unlike Chris and Eric, there's a happy ending for the two social inadequates in the film, as their creation teaches them the value of friendship, honesty and normal girls wearing far too much pink blusher.
School Hard
The title and some plot elements of this episode are taken from the action thriller Die Hard, thought by many to be the blueprint for a great action film. Willis' character, hard-man cop John McClane, defeats a group of terrorists holding a building to ransom in a frenzy of action, gunfire and witty dialogue.
Woodstock - the celebrated hippie festival held in New York Aug 15 -17th 1969. It featured great music from bands including Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane and The Who, and wild dancing by women wearing nothing but body paint.
From Spike's description, it sounds like the "flower person"/hippy he snacked on had obviously had something a little stronger than herbal tea most probably LSD.

Uncle Tom. - Referring to the 1852 book by Harriet Beecher Stowe, Uncle Tom's Cabin, the term is usually used to mean a black person who sucks up to whites. As Uncle Tom was a slave eager to win the approval of his white slave masters. In a vampire context it presumably means someone who's fangy on the outside and fluffy on the inside.
Yoda to Spike's Skywalker - Is in refererence to the Star Wars movies, Meaning Angel no doubt acted as a wise mentor in mayhem back when Spike was starting off as a vampire.

gangs on PCP : an acronym for the drug 1-(1-PhenylCyclohexyl)Piperidine also known as Phenylcyclidine "“ a dissociative analgesic & anesthetic. And known on the street as 'Angel dust'. In Low doses produce a numbness in the extremities and intoxication, characterized by staggering, unsteady gait, slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and loss of balance. Moderate doses will produce analgesia(pain killing) and then anesthesia( total lack of awareness, usually accompanied by sleep). Due to its dissociative nature it induces mania and psychotomimetic/schizophrenic like symptoms in users, coupled with its anesthetic effects it allows manic users to not hold back due to feeling pain when under the influence.
Intoxicated individuals may act in an unpredictable fashion, possibly driven by their delusions and hallucinations. PCP may induce feelings of strength, power, and invulnerability as well as a numbing effect on the mind. PCP was also used to explain the superhuman qualities of Arnold Shwarzeneggar's character the Terminator in the original motion picture 'The Terminator'. The reports of supposed increase in strength imparted by the drug; could partially be explained by the analgesic & anaesthetic effects of the drug. The most commonly-cited types of incidents included self-mutilation of various types, breaking handcuffs (a feat reportedly requiring about 550 lbf (2.4 kN) of force), and pulling one's own teeth out.
In a 1980 special issue on PCP, the Journal of Psychedelic Drugs reported that a 29-year-old man smoked a PCP "crystal joint," entered a pregnant woman's home, stabbed her, killing the fetus, killed her two-year-old child, and when found was running down the street with a knife, naked and bloody, yelling, "Hallelujah, I'm Jesus!" Given the continuing litany of horror stories after 40 years of street use, it seems clear this stuff is in a different league from LSD and other drugs with which it's often compared. Perhaps in a weird 'life imitates art' example, There are two known incidences of cannibalism induced by PCP(reflecting of the episodes 'gang' vampire conduct) both occurring after the episode 'School Hard' aired.
1. claiming he was under the effects of PCP Antron Singleton AKA Big Lurch in 2002 was found walking around Los Angeles naked and covered with blood, his roommate Tynisha Ysais, 21, was discovered dead on the floor of their apartment with her chest slashed open and her internal organs exposed. Pieces of her right lung, which had been removed from her body, appeared chewed and torn, and there were teeth marks on her face. Singleton's lawyer claimed his client had tucked into Ysais after a five-day PCP binge had made him psychotic.
2.Angelo Mendoza in april 2009 bit the eyeball out of his 4-year-old son's face, and ate it, then proceeded to try to hack his own leg off with an axe.

The properties of SSL - an excellent emulsifier for fat-in-water emulsions(a famous emulsion is milk, one of water and fat lipids) and can also function as a 'humectant' - this is responsible for keeping the foodstuff moist, Humectants absorb water from the air. My own theory on the origin of the 'Sweet J' in-joke throughout Seth Green's work, Austin Powers, BtVS, & the name of the project that ultimately led to Robot Chicken, is that it is related to Seth Green's love of the song 'Sweet jane' by The Velvet Underground. The BBC maintain that may be the case*. Further reason to believe this is the case is that in the 1999 episode of Season 4's 'Harsh light of day' Oz asks Giles about the importance of his albums, the album Oz holds up is 'Loaded' by the Velvet underground, the very album that debuted the song 'Sweet Jane'.

Dingoes ate my baby
The name refers to the Azaria Chamberlain disappearance. The incident occurred in Australia in 1980 - a baby disappeared under mysterious circumstances near Uluru/ Ayers Rock. The mother, Lindy Chamberlain, camping with her family claimed to have seen a Dingo(an undomesticated canine/dog species) carrying her baby from their tent, and immortalized the phrase, "The dingo's got my baby!". She was convicted of murdering her baby but later acquitted when new evidence suggested that the baby was, in fact, killed by a dingo.

Eric-stein's monster : The plot of Some Assembly Required is drawn from classic Frankenstein B movies, especially the 1935 Bride of Frankenstein (tagline - Warning! The Monster demands a Mate!) starring Boris Karloff.
The book which introduced Frankenstein's monster, Mary Wollstonecraft Shelly's Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus was first published in 1818. It's usually credited as the very beginning of science fiction, so it's entirely worthy of this Buffy homage.
Of note as well is that Mary Shelly wrote Frankenstein with John Polidori while they vacated together in Geneva Switzerland during the 'year without a summer', John Polidori is widely regarded as the writer and originator of the Vampire story with the 1816 work ''The Vampyre'' which was inspiration for Bram Stoker's later, 1897 book 'Dracula'.
Weirder Science: Another source this episode draws on is the 1985 film Weird Science, where two bright but nerdy teenagers create the perfect woman, played by Kelly LeBrock. Unlike Chris and Eric, there's a happy ending for the two social inadequates in the film, as their creation teaches them the value of friendship, honesty and normal girls wearing far too much pink blusher.
School Hard
The title and some plot elements of this episode are taken from the action thriller Die Hard, thought by many to be the blueprint for a great action film. Willis' character, hard-man cop John McClane, defeats a group of terrorists holding a building to ransom in a frenzy of action, gunfire and witty dialogue.
Woodstock - the celebrated hippie festival held in New York Aug 15 -17th 1969. It featured great music from bands including Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane and The Who, and wild dancing by women wearing nothing but body paint.

gangs on PCP : an acronym for the drug 1-(1-PhenylCyclohexyl)Piperidine also known as Phenylcyclidine "“ a dissociative analgesic & anesthetic. And known on the street as 'Angel dust'. In Low doses produce a numbness in the extremities and intoxication, characterized by staggering, unsteady gait, slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and loss of balance. Moderate doses will produce analgesia(pain killing) and then anesthesia( total lack of awareness, usually accompanied by sleep). Due to its dissociative nature it induces mania and psychotomimetic/schizophrenic like symptoms in users, coupled with its anesthetic effects it allows manic users to not hold back due to feeling pain when under the influence.
Intoxicated individuals may act in an unpredictable fashion, possibly driven by their delusions and hallucinations. PCP may induce feelings of strength, power, and invulnerability as well as a numbing effect on the mind. PCP was also used to explain the superhuman qualities of Arnold Shwarzeneggar's character the Terminator in the original motion picture 'The Terminator'. The reports of supposed increase in strength imparted by the drug; could partially be explained by the analgesic & anaesthetic effects of the drug. The most commonly-cited types of incidents included self-mutilation of various types, breaking handcuffs (a feat reportedly requiring about 550 lbf (2.4 kN) of force), and pulling one's own teeth out.
In a 1980 special issue on PCP, the Journal of Psychedelic Drugs reported that a 29-year-old man smoked a PCP "crystal joint," entered a pregnant woman's home, stabbed her, killing the fetus, killed her two-year-old child, and when found was running down the street with a knife, naked and bloody, yelling, "Hallelujah, I'm Jesus!" Perhaps in a weird 'life imitates art' example, There are two known incidences of cannibalism induced by PCP(reflecting of the episodes 'gang' vampire conduct) both occurring after the episode 'School Hard' aired.
1. claiming he was under the effects of PCP Antron Singleton AKA Big Lurch in 2002 was found walking around Los Angeles naked and covered with blood, his roommate Tynisha Ysais, 21, was discovered dead on the floor of their apartment with her chest slashed open and her internal organs exposed. Pieces of her right lung, which had been removed from her body, appeared chewed and torn, and there were teeth marks on her face. Singleton's lawyer claimed his client had tucked into Ysais after a five-day PCP binge had made him psychotic.
2.Angelo Mendoza in april 2009 bit the eyeball out of his 4-year-old son's face, and ate it, then proceeded to try to hack his own leg off with an axe.

SSL is currently manufactured by the esterification of stearic acid with lactic acid and partially neutralized with either food-grade soda ash -sodium carbonate AKA washing soda , or alternatively using caustic soda AKA drain unblocker Sodium Hydroxide.(Although the final SSL does not contain any of these after purification).
The properties of SSL - an excellent emulsifier for fat-in-water emulsions(a famous emulsion is milk, one of water and fat lipids) and can also function as a 'humectant' - this is responsible for keeping the foodstuff moist, Humectants absorb water from the air. The mention of 'Sweet Jay' in Austin Powers - Scott Evil played by Seth Green ''Well my friend Sweet Jay took me to that video arcade in town, right, and they don't speak English there, so Jay got into a fight and he's all, "Hey quit hasslin' me cuz' I don't speak French" or whatever! My own theory on the origin of the 'Sweet J' in-joke throughout Seth Green's work, Austin Powers, BtVS, & the name of the project that ultimately led to Robot Chicken, is that it is related to Seth Green's love of the song 'Sweet jane' by The Velvet Underground. The BBC maintain that may be the case*. Further reason to believe this is the case is that in the 1999 episode of Season 4's 'Harsh light of day' Oz asks Giles about the importance of his albums, the album Oz holds up is 'Loaded' by the Velvet underground, the very album that debuted the song 'Sweet Jane'.

Dingoes ate my baby
The name refers to the Azaria Chamberlain disappearance. The incident occurred in Australia in 1980 - a baby disappeared under mysterious circumstances near Uluru/ Ayers Rock. The mother, Lindy Chamberlain, camping with her family claimed to have seen a Dingo(an undomesticated canine/dog species) carrying her baby from their tent, and immortalized the phrase, "The dingo's got my baby!". She was convicted of murdering her baby but later acquitted when new evidence suggested that the baby was, in fact, killed by a dingo.
