So often do I find myself quoting the 'Verse in everyday situations.
Take yesterday for example.
A friend suggested that I ditch my class and attend his lunch period. I replied, very dramatically, "Gasp! No! We mustn't!"
Also, I tend to say 'five by five' a lot.

What about you? I know I'm not the only on on the boards who talks like this. Let's hear it.

I use "bitca" a lot, especially in public or on websites that have word censors.

I quote lines pretty often too. Any topic, I could probably contribute something in Buffyspeak. 🙂

I say "Bored now" a whole lot. And "shiny" for "awesome."
I've also started to say "I'm an old fashion girl. I was raised to believe that the women stay home and the men dig up the corpses" I don't think that's the exact quote, but anyone *in the know* gets it and the rest don't know what the hell I'm talking about. 🙂
I also say "five by five" and "bitca."
And sometimes I'll just say things that were never said but people will tell me like I'm talking like I'm from Buffy, which pleases me a great deal!

Me too. I say "Bitca" the most. "Bored now" and "Five by five" sometimes. But I don't generally use other quotes in real life. I just love to make my voice like Buffy's(SMG's) and say word like "I gotta go" just for fun. And my friend will "Oh, that's Buffy's voice, isn't it?". I also say Chaos Bleeds quotes a LOT. Especially the Buffy's closed-door quotes "Not gonna happen" "Apparently not the way" "Mom always said my strength can use to open doors. Just, not this one".

HAHA :D
Yup, I use them a lot. 😀

'Bored now' and 'bitca' are amongst the top ones, however 'bitca' isn't by choice, it just happens!

I also use 'pay attention!' a lot as well as 'idiot child' 😀

Thanks to Nathan Fillion's twitter I say "Bam said the lady" alot. haha
I say shiny, five by five, and bored now. I'm sure that I say alot more, but by now I'm so unaware that I'm saying them and they just sneak into my convo. 😉

I tend to use "Shiny" since first watching Firefly, complete with a happy face. Apparently, it's very odd when you speak German otherwise.

Myself and my friends say "That'll do, pig!" whenever we break up some bickering or anything like that.

We also sing a lot of lines from Once More With Feeling at each other, like when we don't know what to do with our day, one of us will usually sing "Where do we go from here?", things like that.

Oh, I quote Buffy all the time! The other day, someone asked me for some advice and I said, "Well, as Buffy always says, 'Seize the day, because tomorrow you might be dead." 😉

I also use Buffy's trademark adding a 'y' to everything. Like, "No talky! TMI alert" something to that effect. I also say 'bloody" in everyday conversation (you can tell I've re-watched wayyy to many Spike scenes) like "Bloody right you'll call me this weekend!" or whatever.

AND the other say someone jokingly told me I had no tact when I informed my friend that this dress she was wearing was ugly and unflattering, and I said, in classic Cordelia fashion:

"Tact is just not saying true stuff. I'll pass."

The sad thing is, when I quote Buffy, most of the time people don't pick up on that I'm doing that - they just think I'm being witty.

i don't use many of the more obvious buffy ones (like five by five and bored now and Buffy's 'y' talk) but, i end up speaking like Buffy...not the words, but the way she speaks.
And, when i get angry i start to sound like Spike because i say bloody and sodding and bleeding and ninny and many other things that spike said. and then i start to sound British (which would rock...you know, if i was British)

Aside from bloody, I don't think I've ever heard another British person say sodding or ninny or blimey or any of those things!

I think thats because spikes britishness is a bit over the top when it comes to brit slang.

Although i do quote spike alot just because i love his sarcasm and pop culture references and of course buffy's Ys but that just like happened out of nowhere.

I'm British and I say blimey sometimes too, as well as bloody.

I think on occasion I may also have said ninny. I just don't say them all the time! 😛

I talk a lot in Buffy style. You know, how she formulates stuff. I think that is because the show has influenced my English language development, and it's exactly Buffy's way of talking that has improved my fluency.

Actual quoting we alsways do whenever 'tree', 'fire' or 'beer' pops up. Whenever that happens, me and my friend usually say something along the lines of 'fire bad...beer good...tree pretty!'. Well, in lots of combinations, I believe the day before yesterday I used 'fire pretty...tree bad!'. It's not exactly verbatim quoting, but it's definitely 100% Buffy inspired, so I thought I'd mention it.

Me and my BFF, who is also obsessed with the show, just have one thing we say to eachother when we're annoyed with one another.

"Do I get involved in YOUR personal conversations? No, And you wanna know why? Because you're boring."
