Everyone will have a season 8

all right, if you think about it, there's probably going to be at least 5 to 10 people that will have their own season 8. Even if they don't get there one "voted in" they are still written and sitting there.

If this project goes through as originally planned, has anyone thought of hosting a season 8 fanfiction archive for just this boards fiction?

there could very well end up being many season 8's and many many random "What would have happened if this was the episode they chose" fiction.
 
You bring up a very good point, Harm. However, there is an appeal to there being ONE Virtual Season 8, with everyone contributing (albeit with hurt feelings and disagreements and whatnot). An entire S8 forum would solve that problem, however, it would also create a lot of confusion and covolution.

I stand by my earlier statements, that the Mods should step in and make a decision, so we have a game plan. Then, we go wild on that.

Any other thoughts?

I know what you mean about the one season 8 thing. But I think you could work that in.

Make a special place for "the" season 8. And the rest of the fics just outside of it.

This isn't for replacing it, because "the" season 8 will be hosted here and it wont change anything.

It's more of a concept for people that want to archive their fic in an orderly manner even if it doesn't get picked for "the" season 8 here.
 
But that has the potential to create all kinds of messes. No matter what, people will have ideas as to how S8 should and shouldn't be, no one will happy with every idea, and there will be alternate S8's all over the place. I agree that everyone's fic should be archived in an orderly manner, my fear is a riot of S8's, people naming theirs "The REAL S8," etc., just a big mess. Once again, perhaps the Mods have an idea as to how to organize this...

I had this pegged as more of an "afterwards" archive.

Built after all this chaos.

There are already many people out there trying to create there own season 8s. It's envitable.

What were we arguing about again...*sighs* I'm so confused now.
 
Well if you need something to look at, why don't you check out Season X of Angel. A bunch of people on the 'net got together and created an alternate season of Angel. They are actually on the second alternate season now. I'll give you the addy if you want it.

I have already seen a few other people putting on a season 8 of Buffy. So having an archive after 'ours' is done would probably be no biggie.
There is no 'official season 8 fanfiction'. We just want ours to be the best, most read, and be the talk of the Buffy world 😉
