Ok so I'm sure most of us here have heard of The Internet Archive. Well I was sitting here and suddenly wondered what this place used to be like. Let's see shall we?

BB in 2001
BB in 2003
BB in 2004
BB in 2006
BB in 2007
BB in 2008
BB in 2009

It interesting to see what forums where he to start with, how the layout's changed, to spot all the little improvements. And quite sad to see that unless they all changed their names, all the old members are long gone. D=

So, if BB was the same as when it started, would YOU still be here?
Anyone got any "BB in the good ol' days" stories?
And just for fun, how many of you actualy clicked the BB in 2009 link? (sw)

I've already spotted a number of familiar names in those old screenshots.

Wow, that was interesting! Brought back old memories. I remember when we used to have the "Next Episode" picture going down the side. Of course, there were new episodes coming. I also remember how the season forums used to go horizontal instead of vertical. I had totally forgotten about those!

I didn't click on the 2009 one. 🙂

I think all the upgrades and changes that we have had have made the board awesome. It was nice to see how we've grown and changed.

The funny thing is...showing my age...

this actually seemed familiar...

Holy shit! http://web.archive.org/web/19981202230410/http://www.google.com/ That's the most interesting (insightful) view into the internet I could ever have imagined. To think... billions in profits..from this. unimaginable.

Whoa... Old school Google! Funny...
Wow! I can't believe this place has been around since 2001. That's crazy!

And I think you forgot 2002?

I can't help but wonder if all of them show properly on my computer. Some of them just look "older" or different but some of them (2004, 2006 and 2008) more or less look like a word document. Basically just text on a white background. Is that how it's supposed to be? Because in comparision the 2001 version looks both better and "newer" in my eyes.

So, if BB was the same as when it started, would YOU still be here?

I'm staying because of the people not the layout or features so if I got here in the first place I would definitely still be here.

And I think you forgot 2002?

And 2005. Maybe no changes were made those years.

Hee, I saw my first art thread. Boy, that was an awful place, lol.

Nope some of the members from 2001 are still around, as indeed am I! 🙂

I recognise many of the names, although my memory is a little wonky. Some of whom are:

Darla who went through many name changes over the years and is presently our very own Buffy Summers. Dark Slayer has metamorphosised into Faith and Snagglepuss, although I'm not 100 per cent sure, is now the recently returned edb.

The Source I think was the original Boards creator Matt, whose surname presently escapes me. I often wonder what he's up to these days?

The board skin there is pretty similar to the one I still use now. Believe me many of the earlier skins were very garish!

I think I'll go and look for some!

Yup, I was Snagglepuss :D
So weird. I wish I could see what people were discussing. In 2001, Season 5 was still on TV! Weird. I don't see any SNs I recognize, either...

Omg so many names I recognise! I was here in 2001 and glad everything has changed since then 🙂

Buffy Boards.com

I think your name is on this page from November 2001 🙂

Also here is my first real Internet friend NancyBoyHairGel. Still love that name! 🙂

This looks pretty much the same as the September 2001 page doesn't it? Not so, this was one week after the great coup of 2001 when 4 Admins left BB to set up a new board.

Whatever happened to After-Darkness - A SciFi Forum

Ad is still going 😀
And yes I was Faithfull back then lol. How times have changed (for the better).

I think its more a evolution of vBulletin.

Of which is a much more interesting tale.
I would disagree there but how do you mean? We've never used out of the box vbulletin layouts.

Yeah that's not how the board looked - the css must not be loading from those ones for some reason.

🙂

I had weird looking layouts from them too,I'm guessing the backgrounds and images didn't get archived.

Wow thats so weired! It's crazy to think how much history is here!

Im in 2006, apparently I was discussing the unaired pilot. Cool.

Wow, big changes yeah. I didn't hear of that website to see old versions of sites again. Thanks for that 🙂.
