Yeah, maybe Angelus will kill Connor and 'The Father will kill the Son bit' will be fulfilled. That would be the kind of thing that Joss woudl do.
 
In 4.07 "Rain of Fire" ... we see Cordy and Connor in the appartment and then we pan out to the streets and to the building across the street and we see Angel staring at them ... looking really pissed!

Prior to that the beast pierces a bigass pike through Angels throat and says "Do you really think shes safe? With him!" thats what made him go there in the first place 😉
 
But nevertheless, he was there when it happened and he saw the whole show!

I think that Sahjian [sp.?] the demon actually said that in addition to the born-of-vampires description, the original prophecy he changed said explicitly that he was going to be killed by "Connor, son of Angel".

So, I'm wondering, whether the original prophecy ultimately stands or if becomes a classic Whedon-world twist, does anyone think this lends any weight to Angel specifically being the father and Connor the son it does/might refer to?
