Exactly How Anya Gets It In "Chosen"

I didnt like How Anya died at all! First you just see her and Andrew fighting the uber vamps and stuff and then right out of the blue she gets sliced!!! ::crying:: It went by soo fast!!🙁

Because I love her so much, I didnt dare to watch it at first, becuase I had read the spoilers and knew it was coming, but it still upset me. The day after, becuase I had taped it, I saw how she did die, which Nerd4Hire explained perfectly. And she really did die saving Andrew. She died a hero, which brings a tear to my eye now. But I think that she's had a chance to live a thousand years, and that makes me feel better, but still, I'm sad!

I must be so slow all i noticed was her being stabbed in what looked like the stomach then seeing her dead body

...it was the most pitiful death seen ever....

even if when u slow it down and play it backwards while squinting really hard and your standing on your head it does look cool. Thats not good enough. Anya deserved a better more emotional goodbye with a lengthy "tell Xander i love him" speech.

i know she deserved more, it was brutal!!!! she provided us with dozens of comic moments

i was, am and always will be disappointed by anyas death scene
i mean thats not to say that i dont trust the great wisdom man that is josss
but it just seemed he went to far with his 'i can shock you, HA! i bet you werent expecting her to die like that' style of finale
cause i love anya
and it disappointing that her entry into the show could be so important (changing the whole BtVS universe and recreating a vibe between buffy and cordy, be it a tentative one) and yet her exit bbarely made a blip on the radar of the episode

plus it doubly sucks that theres no chance for guest spots of anya on Angel *sigh*

OK, so Xander hears Anya is dead. He shrugs and gives a little half smile.

Now let's go back to Season 5 and the last scene of Into the Woods. Do you remember it. It went like this:

XANDER VOICEOVER: I've gotta say something...

Cut to: Anya's apartment. Anya is in her nightgown, sitting on the bed.

XANDER: 'Cause ... I don't think I've made it clear.

Anya stands up. Xander walks toward her.

XANDER: I'm in love with you.

He walks closer toward her, and she toward him.

XANDER: Powerfully, painfully in love. The things you do ... the way you think ... the way you move ... I get excited every time I'm about to see you.

They are up close now, looking at each other. Anya smiles slightly, looking a little teary.

XANDER: You make me feel like I've never felt before in my life. Like a man. (Pause. He shrugs uneasily) I just thought you might wanna know.

Anya moves up to him and they kiss.

Here's my point. When Joss was showing off his clever little writing trick of not giving Anya the death scene her character needed to give her closure, did he ever consider alot of us would be watching episodes like Into the Woods in reruns? Because somehow after Chosen, the Into the Woods scene, and others like it are just a little less powerful.
