I was having a conversation with myself recently (No, not Schizo yet) and I wondered about words that we have in our vocabulary but never get to use in real life.

My word was "Alacrity" , others off the top of my head are "Bumptious" and "Licentious"

Which words would you like to use in conversation that you have not been able to thus far?

antidisestablishmentarianism....for some reason i can never get that one into a conversation. 😀

Can't understand why. Possibly it's an Edinburgh word!

LOL, I just had a conversation with that word in it yesterday!
Floccinaucinihilipilification (29 letters) is the action or habit of judging something to be worthless, or to make it worthless. Back in the eighteenth century, Eton College had a grammar book which listed a set of words from Latin which all meant “of little or no value”. In order, those were flocci, nauci, nihili, and pili. Someone put all of those together and then placed "–fication" on the end to make a noun

(Try using that sucker in your everyday conversation!)

You know, I actually knew that word. Seriously :)
I try to say (and be) 'sporadic' alot... mostly because of Clueless.

Consanguinity. I picked that word up when I was in 11th grade, very happy about how smartass it sounded and in anticipation of how I could use it in class. But it simply never came up. In my 2 remaining years at school I waited for an opportunity to bring it in, but nothing.
I'm still waiting...
