hey if you expect the unexpected, does that then become expected, thus you then turn to something else unexpected, which makes THAT expected and the first unexpected thing unexpected again thus creating a weird cycle of expected and unexpected that changes with every new thought

Well it is highly unlikely to expect the exact unexpected thing that actually happens, but if you do that, the unexpected thing would no longer be unexpected but in fact expected. Things that are too expected can turn into unexpected things though, quite easily, if you stop thinking about it and stop expecting it.. Thus, unexpected.

Highly unlikely is not impossible.....so you could, in theory expect the unexpected as was, thus negating the un, meaning its expected, which means you shouldnt expect it, as you are told to expect the unexpected....thus the senario turns into a life long cycle of whats expected and whats unexpected.

AL! what have a told you about posting where you're drunk? 😉
i really didn't understand any of that!!
i've read 'expected' and 'unexpected' so many times in these 5 posts that the words have now lost all meaning!

Nope, not impossible. But I don't think it turns into a cycle because.. Well, my question is, what makes it unexpected? If you expect something, it's not unexpected, end of story. Doesn't matter if you yourself considered it unexpected (before you decided to expect it), because the second you started expecting "“ it stopped being unexpected.

Hey are you all doing that game when you say something so many times that it sounds funny, cause if you are I'm in. If you're discussing philosophy I'm off.

worthy point, BUT if you are told that you HAVE to expect the unexpected, the unexpected becomes expected, thus meaning you you shouldnt expect that, meaning its back in the realm of the unexpected, meaning you expect it again, thus it loses its unexpected nature and the cycle then continues

Ape, i have no idea what they're playing at!!

if you expcet something, then it has stopped being unexpected.
end of story!!

see now, with you Al, i would expect you to say that it's the philosophy...but you have told me to expect the unexpected, so then i expect the funny angle...which means the philosophy is now the unexpected and...this is making my head hurt!

I don't do expectations cause that makes everything a lot more simplistic. I assume, but try to stay away from expectations cause they tend to let you down.

Ok I see what you're saying. But can you really decide to stop expecting something? Well in theory yeah you can. I'd still not call it all circle as much as a back and forth thing, uh... 😀

even if they are unexpected expectations they can still let you down...cause you still expect them.
