I just got a craving out of nowhere for a childhood snack that I couldn't get enough of back in the day, but am lamenting the fact that they don't make them anymore.

Circa 1985, Hostess made a delectable pastry called the "Hostess Pudding Pie". They came in either vanilla or chocolate, and they were awesome.

Hostess had later made a similar pastry called "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pies" around 1990, but they just didn't taste the same as the previous offering.

I know those things are terribly bad for you (500 calories each pie), but what I wouldn't give to sink my teeth into one right now. They really NEED to bring those things back.

What foods, or even beverages that aren't made anymore would you love to see return?

When I was little I used to by at cafes with my grandma (who passed away when I was 15) and I always got them. They were soooo good. And no, it isn't just gingerbreadcookies with glaze on and sprinkles on it. They had somesort of orange flavour to them and really melted in your mouth. Plus, they were really pretty to look at.

Bohoooo, come back party pågar, come back!

Any idea why they stopped selling them?

Weird. Last night I went to the supermarket and bought a packet of Anna's chocolate chip and orange cookies!
Old Master 3.0 agrees: Any idea why they stopped selling them?

No, I was very little when they stopped, maybe like 7, so for me they just disappeard. I've tried to google it, but no answer. The only thing the company who made them, Pågen, says is that they've stopped selling them and that they won't be coming back. 🙁

I must be living in junk food heaven here in Georgia, because we still have pudding pies (not Hostess, our brand is Little Debbie, I think) and Igloo ice cream bars, vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, and, of course, the chocolate or vanilla dipped Neapolitan.

My favorite can't-get-anymore treat is Apple Beer, still made, apparently, just not available anywhere near here.

(They do still sell from a website, but my addiction doesn't go so far as to pay the god-awful shipping cost for a six-pack of it. YET)

Also, there are red velvet Twinkies, only available locally at Christmas, pineapple pies, and fried coconut pies.

(now I'm hungry)

I miss this: cream and caramel inside...yum!! It's called Winner Taco.

They were so good..I love caramel!!!
I don't really remember anything i really liked as a kid that isn't still around except one thing

Down the street from where we lived in Dayton Ohio was a store called United Dairy Farmers aka UDF as everyone called it and they made the most delicious Bubble Gum ice cream ever. I used to love it, we'd ride our bikes the like two blocks from our houses my friends and I to get a little cup of it every day after school in the summertime.

When i went back to Dayton to visit my grandma before she passed in 2006 I had my dad stop at a UDF just to go in and ask if they still had the ice cream and sadly the girl at the counter looks at me like i was nuts going "We've never sold that brand" and I was like buggin out saying you did when i was 6! lol

Lol! Sounds really yummy! I understand that you'd remember it!
The happiest day of my life was when the swedish chips brand took back the flavour "cream cheese" by the way. It is a sad, sad world if you have to live with out cream cheese chips. 😀

Really? You have Winner Tacos? You're so lucky!!! Where do you live?

I live in Croatia. And I'm pretty sure here, they call it Ice Cream Sandwiches.

I miss Pokemon Ice Cream so much! It was delicious. When I was a kid, I lived on it!

I don't know how to quote a rep commenty thing, so this will have to do. BN's were biscuits in the shape of a smiley face that had either chocolate or strawberry stuff in them. They were great, around in the late 90's if I remember correctly.

I notice they still have them in Belgium and Germany though.
