Fabulous BB's Top 50 Most Memorable Scenes in The Buffyverse (Special Week)

-Buffy's fight scene in Anne "I'm Buffy. The vmapire slayer. And you are..?"
-Faith's "There's about to be a whooping".
-Faith vs. The Best
-Angel vs. Hamilton
-Joyce and Giles doing it on the cop car Band Candy
-"If the apocalypse comes, beep me" from Never Kill a Boy on the First Date. That was in like, every promo ever for the show and I love it.
 
First one that springs to mind:

- "The Phone Call"- another one from Passion. Angelus watches through the window at the Summers house as Buffy and Willow receive the phone call from Giles to tell them that Jenny is dead. Willow goes to pieces - possibly for the first time on the show, if I recall correctly? Buffy's head just falls as she realises that now Angelus really has to die, and possibly feeling the guilt of not killing him sooner. The fact that Angelus is grinning throughout, and that we see the scene from his perspective really adds to the creepy stalkery atmosphere that has built up through the entire episode.

And for ones that have already been mentioned:

- Angel vs. Hamilton
- Gunn's Wolfram and Hart diversion in Blind Date.
- "I'm Buffy, the vampire slayer." - Anne
 
Here's another one: Who Are You?: Because It's Wrong 'Fuffy' facing down the vampires in the church, all the way to her fight with 'Baith'.

And maybe, from the same episode: 'Ride You At A Gallop' 'Fuffy' hitting on Spike. The speech tends to linger in my memory, not just Spike's.
 
From Bargaining 6ABB01, Willow sitting by a stream with her urn when a fawn walks by and she kills it with her knife to get blood for the resurrection spell. That was watercooler talk for a while.

I'm not sure, but has Doyle's death been mentioned other than in the first soldier down scene?

If not, then: 'I guess we'll never know if this is a face you can learn to love' from Hero

I'm pretty sure the scene was in there, but if it wasn't then ya, I'm obviously voting for this too!
 
I'll add a vote for these scenes.

  • Anne - "I'm Buffy, the vampire Slayer, and you are?".
  • Normal Again - "You're right, thank you. Goodbye".
  • Passion - "The Phone Call". Willow answers the phone and gets the news about Jenny while Angelus is watching.
  • Bargaining - Willow killing the fawn.

I'm not sure if this one counts as a scene but I want to add it anyway

  • Earshot - Buffy is reading Joyce's thoughts and shouts "You had sex with Giles? Twice!?".

Yes, these were awesome scenes, as well.

I also thought of the Buffy vs. Angelus fight when she completely junk-kicks him at the end because she can't stake him quite yet. Awesome fight scene, SMG does such a great job showing Buffy's conflicted emotions, and the decision not to stake him brought on Jenny's death.
 
One day left to vote guys and gals! The voting is tight, but six scenes are fighting for the last of the five spots:

1) Can You Pick Out The One Word There...: Angel's getting his ass handed to him by Hamilton. Hamilton gives a speech.

2) I'm A Bitch: Rm W/ A View: Cordelia's best season ep, but I'm specifically thinking about the entire scene where she stands up to the old-lady ghost.

3) The last scene of Normal Again, where Buffy shuts down at the mental hospital.

4) Faith vs. The Beast: This is, easily, the most brutal beat-down in the history either show, ever.

5) Faith waking up from her drug induced coma, and running to stop Connor killing Angel.

6) "The Phone Call"- another one from Passion. Angelus watches through the window at the Summers house as Buffy and Willow receive the phone call from Giles to tell them that Jenny is dead.

I'll let you all tell me which one you prefer to see go through.

P.S.: The ''Anne'' scene, the Gunn scene, the return from Pylea scene, and the Angel & Buffy scene (from I Only Have Eyes for You) have already went through!

Yep! One spot left. :p
Willow killing the fawn for blood for Buffy's resurrection is still one of my favourites.

And Buffy going from a decomposed version of herself, being reconstituted and brought back to life.

Buffy wandering through the streets of Sunnydale in a state of complete disorientation where cars are on fire after being resurrected, still in the clothes she was buried in.

The Season 6 two-part opener had it all.
 
For the last spot, I pick the phone scene from Passion!

If you're still doing the Special-Week scenes, I don't think A. I. singing "We Are The Champions" after bickering was on any of the lists so I nom that!

Aargh! I can't pick between 2, 4 and 5! I just can't...🙁

Oh, okay...gun to my head: 5, 'Orpheus', every part of it, is brilliant. (S4 highlight imo) And I love it. Especially where Faith effortlessly kicks Conner all over the place. Plus the way she tell him afterwards that everybody screws up and that its no big deal, just makes him one of the team. Very mature.

In fact in my head, I'm including the entire final scene...Faith/Angel talking outside, ('Feels like I did mushrooms and got eaten by a bear.'), Faith and Wesley saying goodbye (nice that they part on good terms), Willow and Fred! Even the look Angel and Faith share at the Willow/Fred interaction...all great moments. 🙂

But Cordy and the Beast....they're still going on my private list. 😛

Alright. I'll have to go with the phone call from ''Passion''. Everyone seems to hold that one in high esteem. 🙂

I'll be posting this week's thread a bit later today! Keep in mind that despite having 11 nominees per week now, you'll only vote for the four most memorable ones. Yep, you're not making a top 5 anymore, you're making a top 4. 😛
