Its a networking site.

Lets you find friends from your past, present and add them. You can add video, pictures, applications etc. Unlike myspace, it isnt over-run with lil emos since most people who join are over 18. (I cant be held responsible for the big emos).

Im not sure why its called facebook.

Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them. People use Facebook to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and videos, and learn more about the people they meet.

Sorry that things are a bit complicated, but a lot of non members request to join, and that kind of takes away the fun eh?
 
I got one too! its fun... I never started myspace, and I have other profiles on diffrent (mostly dutch) sites, but I wanted to join the BB group!

But how was that stalker dude (or chick?) able to harrass ya? I thought all those FACEBOOK profiles were private?
I haven't been on FACEBOOK very long, but that was the impression I got.
 
You can actually choose if you want your profile to be private or not, and which parts of it that should be private.
 
it was private... and he somehow found out where i lived and hacked into my account it was way creepy i freaked out for ages :|

im so careful now espeically with my myspace. its all set to private and there is no personal information. some people just disgust me!

ill probably get another face book.
later on though.. im still a bit creeped out.
 
I have one, and a Tagged, and a MySpace, but I only ever use MySpace, I haven't bothered figuring the other two yet. I only signed up because I got those e-mail invites from some of my friends.
