Hey! I have a silly thread idea...it teaters and totters on a Ray Bradbury or Twighlight Zone feeling (I also think I saw the idea in some kids witch movie and the most recent Looney Tunes movie) theme...

If you wanted to lose yourself in a painting forever, which painting would it be? Is it a famous painting? Describe the setting and scenery if any. Are there others in your painting?

I would like to be lost in this one painting that is my office building. It is on the wall in front of the elevators so I am always staring at it as I wait for the elevator. I don't know excactly where it is suppose to be but it looks like it is a beach front. There is a village and there are home from the bottom going all the way up on cliffs. There is this one cozy little home that has a balcony that looks over the ocean with a little path leading down to the other homes...it just looks like a little village. The sun is out but not shinning too bright. Everything is very light and airy...very flowing. There are no others in the picture, not that are visible anyway.

When we went to NO last March, we bought a seriograph (like a lithograph, but with a difference that is to subtle for my limited understanding). It is a picture of a famous courtyard in New Orleans, with a fountain, and some apartments in the background...I'd like to go into that one...especially when the crap hits the oscillator...it's peaceful, and I know where it is, and what surrounds it, so I'd be comfortable!

HMM...there's quite a few I'd like to lose myself in, but I'd have to go with my favorite painting, which is Vincent Van Gogh-Notte Stellata...there's a nice little village just bellow a tall mountain, it's dark, you can defineitely tell that there's one heck of a storm rolling in....it's kinda psychodelic looking....something only you would see if you were trippin'....however, that's not why I like it, it's more the colors, & most of all I am a sucker for storms!!!

PrettyasaPictur-I have a thing for storms too! I don't know if I could be trapped in one forever though! lol Although the thought of being trapped in constant daylight sounds a little daunting as well!

Storm lover here too! Here in boring old London, ON, we get the most thunder storms in Canada! I love standing on the porch and watching the lightning, especially at night. The local tv station's tower is less than a mile away, and it gets hit all the time...really cool!

Scary stuff, Allycat! I would consider it to be a nightmare being lost in his stuff...lol

killerdwarf-we have awesome storms in Arizona too! They do not last that long or come that often but when they do they are great. The smell after a storm in the desert is amazing as well. Me and my ex used to drive up to the mountains (where all you see is sky) during storms and either sit in our car or sit on our car and watch the lightening, listen to the the thunder (sometimes you don't hear thunder though) and feel the wind. Ah...the memories...haven't done that in a long while.

Yeah, the smell. Here, you get the earthy, peaty smell of some of the best farmland in the world. And the Great Lakes are a cauldron for storms...sometimes you can see them tracking south of here over Lake Erie...big flashes backlighting the clouds, and a few minutes later, the thunder rumbles...man, I love summer!

The car thing sounds like a candidate for the "How do you calm down" thread...it's very zen sounding!
