Faith and Angel's Friendship

Anyone that knows me know I am a Faith and Angel fan (relationship as lovers or just friends). I was wondering what others felt about the growth of their friendship, enjoyable to watch or not? Please take into account I am not a comic reader, just the tv series for me!

I love their relationship, as friends not lovers though. I think anything romantic between the two of them would kind of ruin what makes them special and unique. To me, I saw Faith as the female version of Angel. They have so much in common and ultimately end up in the same struggle for redemption. They both understand each other on a level that no one else can.
I see them more bonded together in a family way, than a romance way.
But the short answer to your question is most definitely, yes. It was fantastic to see them grow together and learn from each other.

I love their relationship as well, specially when she breaks out of jail when he is Angelus. She is so loyal to him. Im not a huge fan of the comics but I do enjoy Angel and Faith. I think if they were to ever become romantic it wouldnt only ruin their relationship but hurt Buffy. Angel would never do that to her. All the times he has hurt her (as Angel0 he has done because he thought he was doing what was right. If Buffy was out of the equation the situation might change.

I love the way that friendship develops between Faith and Angel. I think Angel sees a lot of himself in Faith. No innuendo intended. They both have powers and abilities beyond those of a normal human being, powers which when used for the wrong purposes end in death for their victims. Their inner demons got the better of their human nature, literally and figuratively and they feel the need to atone for their past actions. Angel is probably the only one who can understand what Faith is going through when she asks him for help and Angel gets to save a soul in an attempt to rederss the balance from his own past deeds.

The way it was done through both BtVS and AtS was brilliantly executed with him being a target for Faith as a means of getting at Buffy, the way they anatagonised her further in 'Enemies', the whole body swap scenario and then it coming to a head in 5 by 5/Sanctuary. It was a subtly told arc over two seasons and two shows and displayed the writing abilities of ther Mutant Enemy crew as a whole and the acting talents of the performers involved. One of my favourite arcs from any show ever.

First, I must say that I love Faith (loved her also in the third season of Buffy) and I would like to see Faith and Buffy as allies and friends, because each one of their two, in mutual exchange, can teach something to the other, and I dislike see it only as antagonists.

Secondly, Angel is (by far) my favorite character of all time. So I really love his friendship with Faith and it's always nice to see them together.

Their relationship is intense and is extremely addictive from the emotional point of view. I hope that comics do not ruin what we have seen in the shows (BTVS/ATS) and I do not want to see Faith that turns into Cordelia. They've already made that mistake and I hope that does not happen again.

It was the relationship with Faith and how it developed that really entrenched Angel as one of my all time favorite characters. I was a huge fan of his before "Five-by-Five" and "Sanctuary", but after that, he was just the man to me.

I really got the sense that Angel truly cares for Faith, and that's something she's never really had before. They only showed it the one time, but I always inferred that Angel visited her quite frequently in prison. It's very brief, but that was one of my favorite parts of the S2 opener.

I've always said that I don't think that Faith is a bad person, but that she's a very traumatized person who then had superpowers fall into her lap. I mean, you just knew bad things were going to happen in a situation like that. And I don't think she would have come back without Angel.

It's funny, but I've never thought of Angel and Faith being romantically linked. I'm not that far into the comics so I have no idea what happens there, but I've always thought of them as pure friends. A relationship with Angel would probably be really good for Faith though. I mean, he's about as good a guy as you're going to find.

I love their common bond of seeking redemption for their pasts. He saved her from herself & she was there to help him when he needed it. Definitely a fan of their friendship.
