ok im pissed that they kicked buffy out of the house for faith. im with spike who the hell do they think they are. besides buffy is the one that pays the bills i never heard about anyone of hte others helping out to pay a bill except giles. they kick buffy out for faith to bein charge and look what happens. buffy was right and faith was wrong. faith led all those potentials into a trap and buffy found that axe thingy. and i hope that buffy kicks kennedy ass all the way back to boarding school cause she is treating buffy like crap. i think faith should just go back to jail and stay there cause she ruining everything. and oh yeah the whole faith and principal wood thing was kind of predictable b/c i don;t think sarah is willing to(don't get me wrong i love sarah to death) kiss a black dude. even in cruel intentions she never actually kissed ronald. he never even really touched her in a sexual way. i think eliza is more open to the idea and sarah is not.

I was upset that Buffy was kicked out of her own house, too.

I don't think Sarah is a racist.

I'd never heard her say anything like that. Besides, it doesn't necessarily mean that she's a racist or that she meant to be hurtful. She may have another reason for not wanting to adopt a kid of another race.

Well, I suppose in the strictest sense that rumor is true, but it's completely out of context, incendiary and misleading. I have that particular clip saved on my machine.

Howard was making a politically incorrect joke about how everyone should adopt a black kid. Howard said he had one, and he'd let Sarah borrow him for a week to see if she liked him, and then she could get her own. She kind of brushed the joke off, it was clearly making her uncomfortable. In the context of the conversation, saying that she wouldn't adaopt a black kid, was just a way of saying 'No I wouldn't adopt a black kid just to have a little boy-slave". Howard was saying everyone in hollywood is adopting black kids these days, and the implication was that they were doing it for less than honorable reasons.

Just in case there should be any doubt that this rumor is totally out of context, feel free to view the video clips of the 2002 Howard Stern interview at the following URL:

I don't intend to allow that kind of crud make the rounds without a good fight. Insult my SMG, and them's fighting words bucko. 😉

I've never seen any evidence whatsoever that SMG is racist, and in cruel intentions, flirting but not having sexual contact was in the nature of her character, accepting contact only if it was part of her plan from the beginning.

First off, Buffy doesn't pay the bills. She can't, she makes, at best, minimum wage. You may remember Giles handing her a big fat check. My guess is that since Buffy has never gotten a job which would even come close to providing enough money to pay for the house (and of course, now she's unemployed) that the check we saw him give her was just the first of many (unless it was a REALLY big check.., or Xander and the gang have been helping out).

Second, Buffy was not right. Her plan was to mount another assault on the vineyard. That was wrong and wouldn't have worked. If they had returned in force everyone would have probably died. Yes, she got the scythe, but you'll notice she did that on her own by avoiding Caleb. That avoidance tactic wouldn't have worked with a room full of SiTs.

Never been established who exactly pays the bills... and never been established that Giles is the one who pulls the weight since he was never even there last season and the first half of season seven... so who knows. We don't even know if Buffy is still working... so who really knows?

But, I wonder then, it would come down to who actually owned the house. Did Joyce own it outright? or did she have a mortgage? So, that would help. Either way, Buffy and Dawn i would assume... more Buffy since she is of age.

And I don't see how the gang could really help out that much. The Magic Box is gone (right?) so Anya doesn't have any money. Willow is supposedly still at school, so she doesn't have a job. Dawn sure as hell doesn't work. And Xander has that fancy new car, so I would assume that's where his money goes.

So, who knows, but who cares. It's the SUMMERS home, Buffy and Dawns... but Dawn is not a legal adult so she does not get to make the decisions... Buffy does... so I'd say it's HER house.

We do know that without Giles the house would be gone. The Summers do probably own the house, but it isn't exactly a small home. None of Buffy's jobs could have ever covered the taxes, bills and upkeep (upkeep would be expensive in this home, think how often it gets trashed, even with Xander fixing it all for free, the material alone would be a fortune). We also know that the check Giles gave Buffy had enough zeros in it to take Buffy's breath away.

Know, I'm not sure debating ownership is really appropriate at this period in time. Sunnydale has kind of turned into a 'smash and grab' 'squater's rights' free for all. Still, I'm sure both Dawn and Buffy were in Joyce's will. Even still, I think Buffy was the one to leave because it was just easier for one person to go than everyone else, also, it was the army that stayed behind and the Summers' residence was the armies HQ so it just makes sense.

Could the Scoobies help out with the bills? Anya certainly could. Yes the Magic Box was trashed but Anya was a bit on the greedy side, I'm sure she saved a lot of her money, and even if she didn't she did rob a bank. Xander is a construction big-wig. There's good money there and Xander's car certainly wouldn't take that big a bit out of it. We know Giles has cash, I guess he's employed again back in England or the Watcher's Council used to pay him really well. Willow? It's hard to say with her. There's always alchemy I suppose, the whole magically assisted lead-to-gold bit could help, or she could just be getting money from her parents.

Any or all of them could be helping. We do however know it isn't Buffy. It has been established on the show that she was flat broke and that every job she has had since has been both short term and low paying.

Well, taken Anya obviously bitter opinion of Buffy... she does not like her... I don't really see her being one to help her out in a time of crisis. She's a meanie head and really only cares about herself basically.

Point blank, though... it IS Buffy's house, Joyce left it to them most likely and Dawn is not old enough... so, they shouldn't have kicked her out....

I think they realize their mistake now.

Minimum wage can pay some of the bills that she would have. Yeah, Giles' check helped, but Buffy was probably doing the bulk of the money-earning. I mean, at the end of S6, she was working A LOT.

The house is stilll Buffy's.

It actually might have worked, but...instead of listening to Buffy, the Potentials got blown up following their lack of instincts...
