Faith and her downfall?

There's something about the chemistry between angel and faith that i didn't understand. I know that faith had a rocky start from the series of buffy and she had much regrets, so let me summarize what i know and feel free to reply to fill in the holes.

Faith did alot of bad things in the past, and angel was the only one that was there for her and didn't give up on her, even buffy gave up on her. So now faith owes it to angel to save his life that's why she doesn't take fighting angelus seriously?

But what i don't understand is...what's the deal with faith? Why has it shown in the entire episodes in angel when she's guest starring is that she isn't in her PRIME anymore, like she had gotten weak? Is it because of who's she's fighting? Which is someone she actually likes? Also, did faith think that she was really going to die after she shot herself up? That shows how much she's very determined just to get angel taken, but why does she it seem like she OWES him so much?

Was faith more badass and stronger when she was all psycho'd up like in the beginning of buffy? Like the reason why she had declined is because she's been trying to change and trying to make up all the evil that she had done? But since she's on the phase of making it all up, is that why she gotten so weak?


LOL i really would like to understand her character ! I seriously think her character has more of a UGH! than buffy herself lol.

You have to consider just where Faith has spent the last couple of years. There are very few demons to fight in prison, and even the baddest of the bad female inmates would learn very quickly that she isn't to be messed with. The simple fact is, Faith had been out of action for so long by the time she escaped to go to LA that she had simply lost her Slayer edge. Granted, she was still more than a match for the average, run of the mill vampire, even a couple or three at once, but Angelus was another matter. And as for the Beast, well, I seriously doubt that Buffy could have done a whole lot better, especially considering that she was getting the crap beaten out of herself at almost that same time by the Turok Han back in Sunnydale.

In Season 3 of "Buffy," Faith was almost certainly at the top of her game. She and Buffy were pretty evenly matched. It's just that, like any champion who spends too much time out of the game, she lost her edge in the more than 3 years she was out of the fight.

This has always interested me as well. It seemed like they overdid it when Angel pretended to be Angelus and they got together to trick Buffy. There was something there...it seemed. Angel seemed to enjoy it just a little too much...

Why does Faith owe Angel?

He believed in her. And her helped her change her ways. He stood by her and would probably give is life for her.

I totally agree with why Faith owes Angel. Faith has embraced her, well 'faith' in herself and faith in what is right. Angel is the one person who never gave up on her and she simply couldn't risk his life for that reason.

I don't see Faith as weaker at all. She has gained a wealth of inner strength. She's still struggling with it but she has grown a lot since being inside. She stands up to Wes' 'big picture thinking', she takes charge of the group well and easily puts Connor in his place, not too shabby eh?

And it doesn't stop there. In Sunnydale, despite leading well in LA, she is happy just be another soldier and let Buffy lead. Buffy hits Faith but she maintains her self control.
