Did anybody else get chills during Faith and Tara's meeting in "Who Are You?" at the Bronze? Faith was so manipulative towards Tara

I didn't get chills... I couldn't believe how rude Faith was, considering she was supposed to be Buffy. But I thought it was awesome that Tara knew it wasn't really Buffy!

yeah, she wasnt trying very hard to be buffy, maybe because she had planned to skip town anyway
Faith/SMG was stupid and showed her true colors and Tara was able to see past it

I always thought it was a bit weird that Tara knew it wasn't Buffy cause Tara really didn't know Buffy much at all at this point.

I don't forget that tara is a very intuitive person and she has a lot of power... she has the capacities to see the essence of a person.

She said it was because she could read her aura. She said something about her aura being disjointed...

I usually like Faith, but boy, did I want to punch her in the face the way she treated Tara. Good thing Tara realised quickly that Buffy wasn't herself, and eventually, it was Faith.

I know I've said this before but it's strange that Tara knew Buffy wasn't herself because of her essence/aura being all screwed up, yet she didn't notice when Buffy was a robot in Season 5 and therefore lacked an aura altogether.

In answer to the original question, I hate when Faith (in Buffy's body) makes fun of Tara's stutter 🙁

I actually watched this episode today lol
But no I didn't get chills from that scene. I felt that scene was pretty dead on with Faith's character even if she was in Buffy's body.

What this episode showed (to me at least) is that Tara is a very powerful witch. Probably even more powerful than Willow.

If it hadn't been for Tara, no one would've even known Faith/Buffy switched bodies. If it hadn't been for Tara, Willow would never had excelled at her magicks. She always needed Tara's help with spells. Its a shame that Tara's contributions were always overlooked.

Nitpick: Buffy did kind of tell Giles and convince him. But Tara solved it.

Tara's power was always overlooked/in the shadow of Willow

I agree with you, both with your point about Faith's character and about Tara being such a powerful witch. I felt like Tara never got the respect she deserved as a witch. I understand that Willow was a main character, so of course they wanted to play up her usefulness and power, but I never felt like Willow's power was believable for someone so new to magic.

I feel the exact same way! Willow wouldn't have been as strong of a witch if it hadn't been for Tara.
I think Tara's powers where slightly diffrant than Willow's is some ways. Its like every wiccan has a slighty diffrant way of doing spells and stuff compare Amys way of doing magic to Taras and then compare both to Willow...

Willow who by the way found away to restore Angels soul way back in S3 Willow is emencely powerful from the very start she just had to figuer out how to use her power once she did she was able to go way beyond Taras power

Nitpick: S2.
I think she was being so manipulative because at that point, she felt a kind of jealous hatred towards the Scoobies. Tara still being all shy around everyne at this point, Faith saw the opportunity to do som real damage. Let's not forget she was the sort of girl that felt Buffy and her gang had it so much better than herself, and she didn't deserve to be in her own showes, at this point she still didn't understand that it was her own fault and she had made severe mistakes.

I kinda like the scene for how Faith's character's is coming across. It was clear to see that at that point, she only felt bad for herself and otherwise had no sense of what's rght and wrong. She was purely driven by her own emotionally immature revenge on everyone else.

But Willow didn't know what to do half the time. In order to restore Angel's soul, she had to rely on Ms. Calenders research. As opposed to Tara, who knew exactly what to do in the situation of the Buffy/Faith switch. Amy also seemed to "know" what to do with her power. Willow seemed to need a lot more guidance or help with her spells as opposed to Amy and Tara. And theres the instance where Willow couldn't even use telekinesis to push a vending machine. She needed Tara. There was also a lot of spells where she needed Tara.

I know Willow was powerful and mastered her ability especially by mid season 5-6, but Tara's ability was completely overlooked. I get it because Willow was a main character, but I'm certain Tara could've been just as capable to perform most of the spells Willow had done.

Potentially justified since Tara and Buffybot had very little time together before the real Buffy showed up. She was asleep when the bot showed up to talk to Willow, and was in only a brief scene after Xander showed up before the others went off and she stayed to watch Dawn.

It's also possible that a wrong aura is easier to notice than the absence of one.

It actually made me really sad for Tara because what Faith said to her was so cruel & uncalled for. I hate that scene lol

There are few things that have to be kept in mind here.

First, Faith might not have been highly educated, but that isn't the same thing as being stupid, which is exactly what she would have been if she were actually trying to pass herself off as Buffy, and, yes, she knew Buffy well enough from their time together to have been convincing in the role if she had wanted to, at least for as long as it would have taken for her to leave town.

Basically, Faith was trying to ruin Buffy's character, to make her friends so angry and disgusted with her that they wouldn't try again, as they had done just a couple of years earlier, to locate her and bring her home. As far as she knew at the time, she was going o be occupying that body permanently from that point on, so he last hing she would have wanted would have been to have Joyce or the Scoobies trying to track her down. Faith wanted all connections between her new body and its former occupant's friends permanently severed. Faith was always blunt, but never actually rude, so her acing that way in the Bronze was exactly that. An act, the same as her slut performance was with Riley, and, to a somewhat lesser degree, with Spike. Remember,Tara didn't know Buffy, and Faith was aware of the fact, because she asked. But she DID know, just by observation, that Tara was special to Willow, so hurting her was another way of destroying Buffy and Willow's friendship. What she DIDN'T know was that Tara could sense the fragmenting of Buffy's aura. If she had, she would never have spent more time with her than it would have taken to say, "Vamp alert. Gotta split." and headed for the door as quickly as her legs would carry her.

As for Tara being able to read Faith/Buffy's aura, I seriously doubt that she used that power on a constant basis any more than I believe that Superman uses his x-ray vision constantly. It was simply there when she needed it. At best, she saw the way that Faith/Buffy treated Willow, who had assured her was her closest friend, sensed something was wrong, and decided to take a closer look. The irony here was that, if Faith hadn't been trying to destroy willow and Buffy's friendship by being intentionally rude to someone she recognized as being very close to Willow, had simply treated her civilly, she could have pulled the whole thing off without a hitch.

I always thought that maybe Willow gave a description of what her friends were like which might have helped Tara to know that Buffy was acting out of character. Buffy would never say such cruel things to a person like Tara.
