*******SPOILERS FOR ISSUE 34 AND BEYOND********

Even with all of the talk about how the revelation of Twilight's true identity has and will affect Buffy, I can't help but wonder just how devastated Faith must be by this. Angel, the "one person who never gave up on me" and her inspiration and support during her time in prison, is now suddenly a mass murderer, determined to destroy her and all of her sister Slayers and seemingly completely uncaring as to how many people are injured or killed in order to achieve his goals.

I wouldn't go ahead and call him a mass murderer yet. We are not sure what's going on with Angel. I really doubt his character will turn bad in the end.

Hopefully Angel explain himself before Faith even hear about him being Twilight =P

Okay, an ACCESSORY to mass murder. And if Giles can recognize Angel's voice, it won't be long before Faith does the same thing, though since he's doffed his mask, even that shouldn't be necessary anymore.

But however you define what Angel has become, and whatever justification he eventually uses, the fact remains that Faith has always seen Angel as one of the good guys, whereas she sees Twilight as exactly the opposite.

I'm sure she'll be conflicted. Surely, she wants to believe in Angel as he always believed in her, right?

I too have thought what Faith's reaction will be. I'm sure she'll be devastated...

If this cover is any indication of her reaction:

she looks very sad.

I'd seen this picture before, but it's the first time that I had really paid any attention to the facial expressions. Everyone looks shocked or apprehensive EXCEPT GILES. His expression is more like "I told you so." (Have I mentioned that I have liked Giles less and less since the middle of Season 6?)

I'm sure she's disappointed in him even she's not sure what's happening to him. And I think she won't have a problem fighting him till he explains himself.

Faith is the kind of person who will not react well if she thinks she's been betrayed by someone she let that far into her heart.

I would guess she'll be just half a step behind Xander at the head of the "let's kill Angel" conga line.

Giles looks concerned to me, Xander is the one who looks ever so slightly smug. And come to think of it I wouldn't necessarily that Willow looks shocked or apprehensive either - well not like the others at least.

As for Faith, I don't think she'll give up on him and join the staking queue not right away anyway. If she does then she will have become as ungrateful as Buffy did in season seven and I don't see that in her character. It's for the very opposite that she's always been one of my favourite characters.

I'm not saying she won't be devastated, of course she will be, but if she steps up to kill him straight away without talking to him herself first then Joss Whedon has torn apart yet another one of my favourite characters.

I think Xander and Willow look a little big frightened to be honest.

Faith is like, "Dude... you did NOT just do that." 😛

Giles is like, "I knew this would happen *scoff*"

Dawn looks like she will bust his ass (or at least attempt.)

I don't really agree. She didn't see Angel as a good guy at all, until he tried to help her, and even then it took a little while. But I get what you mean. Still I didn't feel like Faith had as much hate for Twilight as Buff. And whatever happen i'm pretty sure that Faith will listen to what Angel has to say. Remember she's the one that didn't wanna give up on him on AtS!

I think this situation actually offers a good opportunity to see how far Faith has come. If she reacts in a way that her whole world unravels at the site of the man who "saved" her being all evil, then it'll be obvious that Faith is still sort of weak with the stability thing.

However, I'm hoping that she'll instead want to help Angel, the way he helped her.

Your new avatar is wicked!! And your status is frakkin' hilarious!
Giles: Faith. Twilight is Angel and very very evil. Kill him!
Faith: OK!
Twilight: *punches Faith in a coma for a year or two* End of Faiths story. See ya in Season 9.

Faith is no match for Twilight so its really pointless to fight him. Even Buffy cant hurt him. They are both invulnerable at this point right?

I haven't read the comics yet, but I think Faith will feel the ultimate betrayal when she finds out Angel is Twilight. He's always been the one person she felt never gave up on her, and for him to do something like this I think could drive Faith off the edge.

Excellent point and I agree wholeheartedly. The question, of course, remains, exactly what kind of edge, and what's the crevice behind it.

I never thought I'd start to ship Faingel, but come to think of it, with Cordy being dead, Faith's (stern) love may well end up as the only thing between Twangel and a well-earned one way trip to the "Old Big Bad Cemetary".
