Not sure if I posted this in the wrong section, but did anybody else find their twisted and disturbing relationship rather adorable in a way. I've noticed while rewatching season 3.

I think their relationship is kind of odd at the beginning, but soon it becomes something like a real father-daughter relationship. I feel so sorry for the Mayor when he's at the hospital at Faith's bedside.

Yeah I think Faith saw the father she never had in him. I was really surprised when he had his freak-out in the hospital. I didn't though Faith meant so much to him. Even thought they had been villains I was sad to see them go after season 3. I liked both characters and I liked them even more when they worked together.

One of the best pairings in the 'Verse. It made the storyline even more compelling, especially for me. I didn't know whose side to be on! When you can root for the heroes as well as the villains, then you know you've got something special. Season 3 is extraordinary. 🙂

I always saw their relationship as a semi-twisted father/daughter one. Instead of telling Faith to clean her room he tells her to maim a school bus full of children ha...ha...ha. I should write a children's book about them.

I'm in the minority but I find it creepy and it makes me irrationally angry. I have serious issues with their relationship. Its so dysfuntional and harmful Faith. Its not good in any way.

I like it at first I was like what is going on here Faith darling what are you doing??? and then when he says "I'm a family man Faith" I knew he loved her as a daugther and Faith started to realised that, it was twisted and he wanted her to carry on in his steps once he had gone, so I like the father/daugther realtionship its like the evil version of Buffy/Giles. 😀

To me the Mayor and Faith's father/daughter relationship was like a mirror image of Buffy and Giles, only evil. I think Faith really lacked any support from anyone and she finally found it with the Mayor. I don't think it's a twisted relationship. In a way it's quite nice that even evil people can care for someone the way the Mayor did for Faith.

Faith and the Mayor's relationship was the best thing in season 3. He was also so worried when he arrived at Faith's apartment after her fight with Buffy.

One of my favorite relationships! I just love how they interacted with each other, not to mention the Mayor being one of the best characters in the 'verse!

There was always something I liked about it. Maybe because Faith is just so screwed up in S3, and is so desperate to connect with someone, anyone (but ultimately has no idea how), it's both odd but comforting seeing her latch onto him, in a total father/daughter way.

I actually thought the cameo from The Mayor (or really, The First in his form) was awesome. Even though Faith has turned it around in her life (except for the, you know, breaking out of prison) and is firmly fighting for the good guys, seeing that The Mayor was really important to her was cool. I liked that.

And he was just so funny.
