Why was there never an actual Faith ship? She had a one night stand with Xander and another (as far as we actually saw on the air) with Wood, but she is the only character in the entire Buffyverse who has never had an actual relationship that couldn't be described as "slam, bam, thank you ma'am." About the closest thing that ever came close was her daughter/father relationship with Mayor Wilkins or her sister/brother relationship with Angel. No wonder the kid went bad, she never got any romance.

(Fan fiction and speculation don't count)
 
She had other issues that had to be dealt with before she could be in a healthy relationship.
I personally want her with Willow.
 
I know, this was something that bothered me. I actually read a REALLY great Fander fic on AdultFanFiction that made it really believable that Faith and Xander could have ended up together after Season 7.
I just wish Faith would have gotten an actual love interest. Especially in Season 7, her scenes always felt like she was this lonely soul. Maybe it was the way Eliza played her as this torn, damaged person, but she felt lonely, like she was always searching for something by the look in her eyes.

Awww, I just love the character. 😀

True that - no one ever 'ships anyone with Faith. There aren't many fans who I've talked too who liked her and Xander (most felt bad for Xander, lol) and no one really seems to care about her and Wood. Most of the 'shipping involving Faith seems to be focused on the non-canonial side of things - like Faith/Buffy and Angelus/Faith.

Who do I think she was best with? Probobly Angel. I know, I know they were never together, but I mean as friends.

Angel and Buffy are definitely the most popular people to ship Faith with by a long, long way
I've read a lot of Xander/Faith fics. I'm not into the pairing 'cause I'm not into Faith, but they would make a great couple after S7. In fact, the Spuffy fic I'm reading right now has Xander/Faith and I like it a lot.
 
I think she should have been with Angel. That could have been a great romance and we could be talking about fangel right now 🙂
 
I just think it didn't really fit her character to be in an actual relationship. Wood did seem to be opening her eyes at the end of S7 but we never got to see the fruit of that labor. It would've been nice to see it expanded on more in the comics.

Agreed. If she was in a relationship it would have felt wayy OOC to me. (Unless it happened after S7, like you said.)

I think her best match is Angel, because he's the only guy that I like her with. Faith and Xander aren't good together and Faith and Wood wouldn't seem to last. So I ship Fangel if I had to pick a Faith ship.

Ditto lol. Fangel would be my first pick for her as well.
As much as I love love love LOVE Spuffy... I would have loved a great big honk'n ship of Faith & Spike! ...especially when she was a rogue slayer. I'd even like to have seen Spike be the one to bring Faith back to the "good fight" side. ~sigh!~
 
Im completely Fangel. Thats the only ship Id fight tooth and nail for.

I think Faith and Buffy belongs together, as friends or lovers, it doesn't matter but I'm shipping Fuffy all the way. 🙂

Faith and Wood I did not like, it seemed like a pretty obvious attempt to just keep Faith busy in Touched. I've never for a second thought it would last beyond the end of season 7.

I agree with Abbey, I feel a relationship involving Faith would be very out of character. If I had to choose one though, I'd pick Fangel. I've heard a lot of awful slash ships involving Faith. I'm not one for slash ships in general (unless they're Spangel)... but Faith slash ships... ugh. Maybe as a one night stand... but not as a ship. Faith is straight. I see her fooling around with women, but never a relationship with them. The idea annoys me. I don't like trying to make a character something he/she isn't (although I guess that's my problem with slash ships in general again, isn't it?)

Back to Fangel though... I think they understood each other. Neither character was perfectly good and neither character was perfectly bad. Also they had a chemistry that was undeniable. Buffy was so concerned Angel liked Faith in season 3 because she knew they had a chemistry. I believe that's part of why it hurt so bad for her to see Faith with Angel in Sanctuary. Also, it was Angel who pulled Faith out of her darkest time. Faith isn't built for a relationship, but I can see Angel shaping her for that like he shaped her for redemption.
 
I kind of like the idea of Gunn and Faith. Is that wrong? I just see something there. They are both down to earth types. If not for a long term relationship, they could definitely have the sailor fun with each other.

Fangel? NOOOOO. I love their relationship as it is, a romantic relationship would undermine that for me.

I always thought Faith and Gunn could work! and I am not a Fangel fan either.
Gunn and Faith? I approve. They're both cool type. 🙂 But I think Faith can be in love with only one person. It's Buffy. Her being straight has nothing to do with it, IMO. And no for Fangel. They just respect each other. 🙂

Faith and Methos would have made an absolutely great couple. Plus, I've always thought that Methos would have made a fantastic demon fighter, he's such a rogue in real life. And if they ever got married, Giles and Dawson could have sung a heck of a duet of "Wind Beneath My Wings." (I would have said "Two Lost Souls," from the musical, "Damn Yankees," but I doubt that anyone here is familiar with it. Just take my word, it would have been perfect for them)

I think Faith and Angel would have been good for Faith. Angel was the one that was able to get her on her path for redemption. They'd be cute together!
