Now that Echo has become pretty much a superhero (
able to access all of her specialized skills from advanced combat to medical training
) how would she fair in a fight against Faith the Vampire Slayer?

If you're talking about a face to face match, then no matter how skillful a fighter Echo might be, she will never be able to match the enhanced strength, speed, and endurance of a Slayer. No contest. On the other hand, Echo also has a knowledge of modern weapons that is far greater than anything that Faith might have, so her best bet would be to tale the Slayer out at a safe distance awat with some kind of firearm. She just has to be certain that the first round got the job done, because she probably wouldn't be able to get a second shot.

I second this.
Faith would win. Echo has skills, but she has no strength and instinct. Like WA said, the only way Echo can win is using guns. 😛

Yeah, I'd go for Faith too. Slayer strength has got to be better than having fighting skills programmed into an average person.

I'd say Echo is a little above/better than an average person but not like she got extra powers or anything so I agree that Faith would win.

I think Faith would win because she has great fighting skills and superpowers. Echo only has the great fighting skills.

In a question of who would win between Buffy and River Tam, Joss said River because she's a programmed assassin, so any of Buffy's superstrength and skills as a slayer wouldn't count. The same could be applied to Echo vs Faith, it will depend on Echo's programming.

I'm not familiar with the quote, but if that's exactly what Joss said, River Tam would probably have the advantage because Buffy doesn't kill humans.

FAITH
He'll do what I tell him.

CONNOR

Yeah, sure I will.

FAITH

I get it. You're a super-being. Are you a murderer? 'Cause I am. If it comes down to you or Angelus, you haven't shown me a thing to make me want to take your side.

GILES: Can you move?
BEN: Need a ... a minute. She could've killed me.
GILES: No she couldn't. Never. And sooner or later Glory will re-emerge, and ... make Buffy pay for that mercy. And the world with her. Buffy even knows that... and still she couldn't take a human life.
GILES: She's a hero, you see. (Giles puts his glasses on) She's not like us.
BEN: Us?

If that is the case (which I strongly suspect), then I don't think Echo would have much of an advantage in that regard. Both she and Faith would be reluctant to kill, but under the right circumstances...

He said that in a Q&A session over Cultural Humanist Acceptance Speech. I've seen Firefly&Serenity couple of times, but I've got the impression that River is a normal human being only programmed to be a assassin. Her programming seems to be highly effective according to the time schedule (couple of hundreds years in the future). I'm not sure if somebody can do that kind of programming in the Dollhouse timeline that's why I said it would depend on Echo's memories.

Wouldn't be weird for Echo to have Buffy's memories while fighting Faith?

Huh? I though i had answered this before. LOL.
I must of read it, and couldn't make my mind up. I agree with Min , echo could only win if she had guns. 😛
Faithy would totally win in a fight, slayer strength is better than imprinted skills.
And yeah i agree with Beergood, i'd be rooting for echo too. ^.^

Unless it's the Knights of Byzantium, trying to kill Dawn, or the Bringers, trying to kill everyone in Sunnydale (Maybe the Bringers don't count, but they were normal humans before they became the First's minions)

Yeah, Echo might be able to shoot her from a distance, but barring that she's going down. I think Faith's at least as skilled as Echo, plus she's faster andmuch stronger and tougher.

Oh, and I'd be rooting for Faith.

Overall, I'd say Super Echo is more skilled than Faith, but Faith's small area of expertise is how to inflict the most possible damage on super-strong opponents (centuries worth, with her Slayer memories), so I'd give the edge to Faith in hand-to-hand. Plus her profoundly superior physical gifts.

If it was "to the death," I'd go with Super Echo, hands down, because she has few qualms about murder. Faith at her worst was hesitant to kill, and now it would take a heck of a lot to put her there.

Or she'd choose to knock her out cold instead. :P
What's all this about Buffy would never kill a human?! Didn't she try to murder Faith. Are Slayers not human now? And didn't she also kick her mums boyfriend, Ted i think, and nearly kill him. She didn't know he was a robot at the time.

I think Faith would win against SuperEcho because Faith heals faster and has super strenght ect. If it was a fight where you had to be smart not strong SuperEcho would win because Faith wasn't very educated and SuperEcho knows LOADS. But i think even if it was to the death and Echo had guns, Faith would win because she could pick something up as a sheild or throw something to knock the gun out of SuperEcho's hand. Or simply run away/ climb up on the roof or whatever and then attack SuperEcho from behind. Faith is fast and strong. She's a worrior. SuperEcho is a thinker.

Agreed.

Also I'm gonna go with Echo because she does have the combat skills and like 40+ people rolling around in her head and after "Stop-loss"... well I have a hard time seeing Faith, superpowers though she has, beating Echo in the end.

Something just occurred to me while reading this thread. What if Echo were programmed to believe that she actually was a Slayer? We know that the human body is capable of performing to a far higher degree than is considered normal. A 100 pound, 5 foot tall mother, under the right circumstances, can, and actually has lifted a car off of her injured child. and people have under special circumstances, exhibited speed and endurance bordering on what could arguably be called superhuman. What if Echo were somehow programmed so that she could tap into those potentials at will, making her the equal, of very nealy the equal, of an actual Slayer. Then in addition, she could be programmed with fighting skills, both mundane and exotic, that would make Neo look like a second lesson white belt.

Given those circumstances, coupled with the fact that Faith, believing that she faced a normal, if highly skilled, human, might in the first critical moments of the fight, underestimate and be taken totally by surprise. If Echo could act quickly and decisively enough, she just might actually have a chance of pulling off a total upset.

Echo's tough, and I have no doubt she is a more skilled fighter than Faith. But, Faith is a pretty good fighter too, and if you add in her slayer strength, I think it gives her a big advantage. More times than not, Faith wins this fight.
