At the beginning of Graduation Day Part II, Faith tipped Buffy off in a dream to prey on his human weakness. She also mentioned that the "scar tissue" will "fade..it all fades". Now it could just be me, but that seems like outright defiance to her "sugar daddy" and forgiveness of Buffy.

Why, then, did she wake up in This Years Girl and say "What, you thought I'd wake up and we'd go for tea? You stuck a knife in me"

I don't get her!

p.s that's not to say i don't love Faith, because she is amazing

I think that the Faith in the dream was the real Faith - who she should be, and who she really is under it all. But when she's actually awake and placed back in that environment, all the defences go right back up and she pushes everyone away. It's no coincidence that she breaks down within weeks. The Faith we see in This Years Girl is being pulled in about a million different directions by everyone she's ever met, and so she hits out.

I think that Buffy and Faith could be best friends or worst enemies, but not very much in between. As Faith said in Season 7, the two of them together was something that was just never meant to happen. Sadly, Buffy is just too eager to assume the worst about Faith to accept the best friends option, at least for the moment. Personally, I really hope that she can someday change her mind about it. If she does, I have no doubt that she and Faith together as a trusting team would be a force no big bad could stand against.

I really don't think Buffy is that much in the wrong. I mean, I like Faith more than Buffy, but still. Faith tried to steal Buffy's best friends, Buffy's boyfriend, Buffy's life. Would you be pissed?

I thought exactly the same. The Faith in the dream is Faith who trusts everyone around her and more importantly herself. Also this is just at the time when Faith is in her coma, she was in that for months. The nightmares and dreams she had must have messed her up even more especially if shes having ones of Buffy killing her. When Faith wakes up she realises that nobody has visited her in the way of friends, her only friend Mayor Wilkins has been killed and she wanted payback for all of that.

So Faith hits out and went completely off the deep end by holding Buffy's mum hostage, switching bodies with Buffy, sleeping with Riley and finally taking all her pent up anger out on her own body whilst in Buffy. Thats where the breakdown begins, she hated herself so much at that point and when she went to LA it just got worse and worse to the point where she was begging to be killed and the break down in to the Faith we see later on begins.

Agreed, Faith suddenly sees what Buffy has and what she could of had if only she hadn't chosen that path, she was a good girl gone bad!
