Fall Finales are all almost over (waiting on American Horror Story), but how about let's rate all the shows at this point. First, I have to say, this has been the best overall season of television I can remember, and there are SOOO many shows I am interested in this year!
Here's what I'm watching:
Sunday:
Once Upon a Time
Love! One of my favorite new shows this year! I love Jennifer Morrison, and it's so good to see her in a starring role. Still not sure how the whole save the town stuff is going to play out. But I love the juxtiposition of the fairy tale story every week with what's going on in the town.
Family Guy
Nothing to say more than I love Family Guy, and love seeing new episodes!
Pan Am
I LOVE period pieces and I'm so glad ABC took a chance with this! Super bummed we only get 14 episodes, and ABC would make a mistake NOT renewing this awesome show! I love the dynamic between the flight attendants the best, and Dean is definitely not bad to look at! I especially love the espionage arc with Kate!
Monday:
Terra Nova
Tied with American Horror Story as my favorite new drama. And I'm super bummed both are going to be finished this week! ha! But I love the whole going back in time dynamic, and re-doing Dinotopia, but less Disney and much better! The sixers dynamic is awesome, and I have yet to watch the finale, so I can't wait to see how the 11th pilgrimage stuff is going to go down!
How I Met Your Mother:
As always, less interested in Ted and more interested in Barney/Robin and Lily/Marshall. But I'm getting less and less interested in the show. :/
2 Broke Girls:
My favorite new comedy! I love the relationship between Max and Caroline is spot on! I love Max's one-liners and Caroline's heiress with a heart. AH! So thankful for CBS bringing on another good comedy!
Gossip Girl:
I am actually quite enjoying this season. Which is saying a lot because I've never really enjoyed Gossip Girl. I honestly haven't seen an ep since that one s3 episode where Hilary Duff first guest stars. And before that, it was like episode 7 of s1. But I am totally loving the Blair arc. And the Charlie arc.
Heart of Dixie:
while I laugh at Rachel Bilson as a doctor, I think this show is just classic WB. It actually reminds me a lot of everwood, but with a naive NY girl as the focus instead of a family man. Though Lemon is annoying, and she needs a personality revamp immediately! Wade and George form a great triangle with Zoe. And I kind of want Lavon and Lemon to get back together just so Zoe and George can have a shot..
Tuesday:
90210:
This season has been so much better than the past 2. The latter half of season 3 was kind of blah. So I'm glad it's gotten more dramatic this year. I actually care about every arc going on. Well, minus Navid. Can his uncle just kill him already? I want Silver to move ON! And looks like she has. Boo. Ya. I am sad that Teddy is gone though. It pisses me off that they can do so much with him and just let him go. Whatever. Upwards and onwards. Oh, and omg. Liam. The finale. Not spoiling anything, but... I wonder what's going to happen!
New Girl:
I thoroughly enjoy this show, but I think 2 broke girls is the better freshman comedy. I love Zooey Deschanel, but sometimes everything is a bit over the top for me. I think it can come down a few pegs. But it's still on my must-watch.
Ringer: Sarah does not play convincing twins side-by-side. But she does well in both personalities when they are separate. I am thoroughly convinced they are 2 different people. I love the constant intrigue provided by every episode. And I cannot believe they
This show is definitely another of my most favorite freshman series.
Wednesday:
Survivor: South Pacific
I'm officially over Redemption Island. It was a good idea and twist, but it needs to go. It honestly takes up WAY too much screentime. I think the "One World" idea will add an interesting dynamic, and I hope that this means they will focus more on the beach-life than the challenges this season. That's what made survivor amazing. The dynamic between the players. Not the sorry-ass duels they re-use in Redemption. PS. I'm also over bringing old players back. STOP. PLEASE. I just want all new players. It was a good try but failed miserably TWICE. For SURVIVOR 25 (since 24 has already been shot) keep the oldies OUT OF IT!!!!
Suburgatory:
Second fave new comedy!! AHA! I love the quirky suburban characters, and the city girl adjusting to life in the burbs. There has not been an episode of this show I have not loved.
America's Next Top Model:
I thought it was really interesting to bring back old contestants for the ALL-STAR edition but the repition of the fact that these were "All-Stars" got old fast. They're not even All-Stars.. NO ONE WON their original season. They're more like "re-hashed stars". Though did like that
won. She did amazing, and truly is star quality. Angelea can suck it. And i wonder what got her
.
Happy Endings:
I freakin love this comedy! It is truly a hidden gem, and more people need to watch this. It definitely deserves some emmys for comedy. Penny is the most hilarious one of the bunch, and I love her antics!
American Horror Story:
Best. Show. Ever. I have been thoroughly enjoying this show from minute one. And it has not fallin short since! I cannot wait for the finale this week. And I hope they do the right thing and come up with a new house next season. I think that's the best way to continue the series, instead of adding a new family to the house. It's called "American" horror story for a reason. Each season should travel to a new location in the country.
Thursday:
Big Bang Theory
My. new. favorite. show. of. all. time. I am in freaking love with Sheldon Cooper. And I am so glad I decided to start watching this show. And Amy Farrah Fowler has added SO MUCH to it. Forget NCIS. Everyone should flock to this show and give it the ratings it truly deserves. Genius.
The Office:
Can Robert California go? He's pointless and adds nothing good to the show imo. And it makes no sense that the CEO of the company should continue to visit a small branch in Scranton, Pennsylvania. Just stick to the regular cast minus Steve and you're golden. For real.
Secret Circle:
I honestly like this so much better than TVD. I lost interest in TVD last year because it was so dense and dramatic, and every episode felt like the end of the world. I havent even finished watching last season. But on to TSC. I freakin love that LUX is Cassie! Brit is amazing. And I'm so glad I get to see her still on my tv every week! This show is just interesting without being too intense. I like it. It has the right flow imo. TVD can scale down a bit to this level.
Living With the Amish:
This actually just started in Britain, but i stumbled across it online, and I have loved every episode! I love that these kids are really trying to understand what it's like to live an Amish lifestyle, and I love seeing the worlds that different communities live in. It's definitely an eye-opener!
