This show is excellent.

Better than the simpsons in my poinion. I think its fresher. Funnier and less restricted than the simpsons. Plus I think the simpsons has slowly been getting worse for a while. I mean the ricky gervais episode was 'ok' i thought. Nothing great. Not the best simpsons of all time.

Anyway Family guy rules!!! I bought season 4, released today in the UK (I went on a dvd frenzy today)

PLUS theres a firefly mention on it. In the first episode Peter announces to the family that they;ve been cancelled!!!(The show got cancelled in its third season.) He says there was no room on Foxs schedule for them with *names about 100 shows including Firefly* The only chance we have is if they all get cancelled! (All the shows named were cancelled)

Well...you get the joke. Its funny...honest. I dont think my explaining hepled, plus I couldnt find a quote, lol. But I reccomend watching this awesome show although it can be quite offensive to some people. If you dont take anything in it too seriuosly then you will find it hilarious, but otherwise you might just be REALLY insulted....


Anyway...Watch family guy!!!!
 
I love this series!! I agree it's so much funnier then the Simpson's, which has totally been declining! I am really not expecting a hilarious Simpson's movie when it comes out, Actually I thought The Family Guy Movie was terrible, nowhere near as funny the series, and I absolutely love that bit at the start where they name all those canceled shows, Firefly and Dark Angel getting a little mention!
 
Totally agree the family guy movie was a bit suckish. Not terrible though...in fact...yeah it was. But still Lois puking up and swearing was laugh out loud funny.

I'ml iking the season 4 so far. There have been appearences from the infamous greased up guy and the chicken man. Hilarious!!!!!
 
I ADORE FAMILY GUY.

Its so funny, Stewie and Peter are possibly two of the greatest creations ever, only equalled by Homer Simpson and Eric Cartman.

Yes i do think the Simpsons has had its day, and not entirely looking forward to the Movie, but the Ricky Gervais Episode was hilarious, when he was in it, which was kinda bad really as Ricky wrote it, so obviously wanted to 'out-shine' Homer.

To be honest just because FG, Simpsons and SouthPark are animation, people compare them, but i don't think they really can be, they are completely different, and thats what they revel in.
Its like comparing Friends with Only Fools and Horses, both Comedies, but not at all in the same vein.

For anybody uninformed.. Comparing friends with Only Fools and Horses is like compariing shit with gold.

Friends bring shit. Only Fools and Horses being pure comedic gold.
 
Won't argue with you there.

Even the latter seasons of Only Fools that were a bit poor(though anyone ever questions that Batman scene gets a punch, FUNNIEST TV MOMENT EVER) are far better then anything of Friends.

was it just me, or did anyone else get a 'pervert' impression from Grandad?
 
Only Fools and horses was good, I loved it but friends wasn't shit, and it did have a massive impact accross the world on many things.

I love family guy, especially Stewie, I think he is 100 percent awesome, pure genius. I love the little side tracking sketches they have on so often, loved the one with Alyssa Milano and that episode where they developed super powers was magnificent. Pure gold!!! Ten times better than simpsons, well current simpsons at least
 
I really like Family Guy - particularly Stewie 🙂 - and I know that the Simpsons occasionally goes through a not-so-good patch but I think that an average Simpsons ep still wipes the floor with most TV sitcom. Don't forget, if it wasn't for the Simpsons paving the way we probably wouldn't be seeing the more edgy animated sitcoms like Family Guy, American Dad, South Park, Futurama (pure genius btw) or King of the Hill (very underrated IMO) and I'm fairly sure that all the creators of those shows have acknowledged that in some way...my favourite "acknowledgement" was South Park's "The Simpsons already did that" ep 🙂 Hell, if it wasn't for The Simpsons, Fox would probably be radically different and, whether I like the company or not, they have produced some of my fave shows in recent years.
 
Haha I just bought season 4 of Family Guy and Season 1 of American Dad and have watched them all in the space of 2 days.

I adore them both. I love how smart yet random both shows are. I love that they really don't hold back. I think people can automatically watch it, not get it and get offended by it when I think it's sattire at it's best. Sure, it's not all PC, but who cares? It's hilarious.
 
Gotta say, not a fan of American Dad...


One of my Fave Family Guy episodes is 'The Road to Europe' a comical take on the Bing Crosby/Bob Hope movies of the 50's and 60's even down to the hilarious Song in Asia......love that episode

I LOVE Family Guy. I think the intro to the first eppy when it came back was brilliant..with the whole list of cancelled shows...

However I'm finding myself a teensy bit letdown with the later part of the season...too many cut-away jokes and I don't know...just not as quality as it has been in the past.
 
I just watched my first Family guy episode today. I think it was called "Peterotica"..

What's the what? Did I just happen to watch a dull episode? It wasn't particularly funny.

Actually, i gotta admit, it took me about three episodes before i started to like it, i don't know if it was because i was trying to catagorise it, or if i picked a few crap episodes or what, but it grew on me and now i love it
