August 27-29 I believe there is a FanExpo in Toronto.
Its a anime/horror/gaming/sci fi convention. I was thinking of going to that other whedonverse one, but now I saw this (FanExpo Canada) guest list. James Marsters, Felicia Day, and Summer Glau are going. Might be good for people like me who have no friends that like any Whedon shows, plus, JAMES MARSTERS!! He's having a concert at the convention as well (FanExpo Canada).
 
Sigh. So something not even specifically devoted to Whedon already has more Whedon-star-power than the one that is devoted to him. And it's downtown instead of out by the airport. How do prices compare, I wonder.

Why couldn't they have just combined them?
 
The prices for this one are pretty good. 59$ for all 3 days, and there's cheaper ones if you just want one day. Wish they would say what days people will be there on though, I'll probably have to get it for all 3 then.
Lowest price at this is 29$, while the starry night one's cheapest is 85$. But then again, A LOT more people will be at the FanExpo one so you probably won't get as much of a chance to talk to people at it. Also, I don't think they've announced all the guests yet for the Whedon only one.

Yeah, they say 'more guests to be announced soon', but that's been there for more than a month now. In fact, the website doesn't seem to have changed at all in the past month.
 
New annoucement coming verrry soon! I'm sure you'll like it 😉
Also in the last month there's more Whedon events added to programming and sponsors (meaning - giveaways!)

Can't combine them because they are two completely different cons - one a larger scale "variety" con (gaming/horror/etc) and the other an intimate more fan-oriented con (so therefore more guest interaction, and events centred around Whedon).
