No more frogs
So I've posted a few times now and thought I'd come say hello proper. As you can see, I've been around since May, but I tend to lurk mostly (and feel a little intimidated at the number of very clever posts in here! :tongue2: ), so I don't how much you're actually going to see me around. But I'll try. 🙂
Anyway, I'm a 19-year-old Buffy fan from Denmark (any other Danes around here?). I live in Copenhagen and am a soon-to-be English student at our university. Music and TV are two of my greatest passions and I like a good read once in a while too. I write a bit too, although truth be told I enjoy process of coming up with the story more, so it's pretty rare that I actually finish anything.
I'd known about Buffy since forever, but never really checked it out, mostly because of the title, which to be fair is even more ridiculous in Danish (it translates to something like "Buffy, the fear of the vampires" :lmao: ). But then, a couple of years ago I got more and more into science-fiction, Doctor Who in particular, and on forums I kept running into statements like "RTD is trying to pull a Joss Whedon" or "Captain Jack and Captain John's bickering is reminiscent to Spike and Angel's" as well as people comparing and praising BTVS. Finally I gave in and started downloading and watching the episodes (don't worry, I've got the boxsets and everything now! :biggrin: ). Needless to say, I fell in love very quickly (I'm hardly here to tell you story about how I watched it and hated it, am I? lol) and a little over two months later (this May 2008) I finished the last episode of Angel.
Not having had enough, I immediately sought out fansites, forums, fanfiction etc. (I even spend a fortune on getting the comics sent to me from the US despite the fact that I'm not a fan of comics in general) and often found myself drifting here, as it seems to be a place of good discussions and clever insights.
Anyways, I think I'll just stop here as anyone who might have bothered reading this is probably half asleep now. So I'll just end with a big HELLO! to everyone.
