Okay, so, well. Reading the age differences thread, I came up with this idea, yeah? It's sort of a thought experiment.

Imagine you're walking into a train compartiment with loads of people from the opposite sex, or same. People of the gender(s) you're sexually attracted to. Anyway, it's crowded, but they've all left a seat free next to them. You HAVE to sit down next to one of them. And since your single and a bit desperate, you decide to sit next to the one who's most likely to fulfil your romantic needs. None of them are talking. So the only way to decide who you're going to sit next to is his/her/its looks.

Next to whom would you sit?

A cute looking shy girl. who just happened to look like Michelle Trachtenberg or Alexis Bledel....

My wife, who is the only woman in the world for me, and who is standing behind me watching this as I type.

(But if she isn't aboard the train, I would sit next to the one who looks the most like Maureen O'Hara in "The Quiet Man,")

Karma just for mentioning "The Quiet Man", one of my favorite movies!

That was such a sweet post until you mentioned she was behind you watching you type lol
And since your single and a bit desperate
If that's the case maybe someone that looks a bit desperate too. 😉 But if I'm single but not deperate I'd say someone that looks nice (such a boring word to use) and, as Clem said, a bit shy. It's more about the feeling they give out and not how they look. And the "I'm great and I know it" feeling don't work on me.

I would never take the train. And if I did, I would remain standing.

I just read that I HAVE to site next to somebody. I would pick the pretty shy girl with the glasses who has a smoking body.

Damn, and I though it was a smart choice when I exchanged my glasses for contacts
The guy who looks like James Marsters.

Or the guy who looks like Johnny Depp.

Or the guy who looks like Jensen Ackles.

/me droooooooooools

Good question i hate sitting next to people but if push came to shove i would probably sit next to the geeky girl reading a book or papers or the quiet rocker guy with the headset on there my kind of people.

I'd sit next to an elderly lady, they always have the best chat, and I'd feel comfortable sitting next to them. It would be a nice train journey.

I'd sit next to the girl with shoulder length hair that's black but red at the tips. She'd have blue eyes which I'd have already noticed and be quite slim. Probably with a skirt on too and dressed alternative.

So no one too specific then??

Have you been following me again??
I'd say an slighty better than average looking guy, dressed casually and maybe be a muso or at least an appreciator of rockin tunes. Slightly ruffled hair, in that "I fell out of bed looking like this" kinda way. Sorta dreamy type eyes...not really focused on anything in particular...or so it seems...

Oh! Maybe he could havea guitar and have to move it for me to sit next to him....hmmm....

So...Robert Pattinson then?

I can't friggin' rep you, but: /me dies tips red and buys blue contacts. 😀 😀

Honestly, I don't have a type. All of my boyfriends have varied wildly in look and personality, so I'd really have to talk to someone to figure out if I'm going to sit next to them.

But if I HAVE TO sit next to someone, I'd probably pick the dude sitting in the back listening to his MP3 player not wanting to be seen. And then I'd plop myself down and go, "HI I'M MES. YOU TOTALLY DON'T WANNA TALK TO ME BUT WHAT'S YOUR NAME?" /me inserts stupid grin here

You'd so glomp. Like, actual, real-world glompage.

Hmm, sounds like you're describing me. ;)
I'm with Messy. My tastes run so differently, I don't have a 'type,' only that they have a good sense of humor. A guy has to make me laugh, it's a rule, lol. So I'd probably sit by the guy with his feet up on the seat or something, just to see what he'd do when I made him move, lol.

Even if they're not talking, I would sit becide the one that make eyecontact with me and actually seems like we might like each other. It's just that simple 😀

I'd go for the woman hiding way at the back in the corner seat and i'd sit next to her and wedge her in so there's no escape (sw) . You see, women are like wolves. If you want one you must trap it. Snare it. Tame it. Feed it.

And how's that strategy working out for you? lol

Pffft! Don't feed it, it'll just get fat!

What you do with wolves is your own business, we REALLY don't need to know....

maybe YOU should sit in the corner.....pesky chairs....
I can't really see myself as "desperately single", lol.

I guess I would either sit next to the utterly-out-of-my-league fashion slave supermodel or the shy and withdrawn bookworm lost in the novel before her. Either option would minimize the risk of her actually talking to me - I suck at non-virtual contact with women and avoid it if I can.

(If said seat offers me a good view at the pale, freckled, green-eyed redhead with smallish boobs in the seat two rows away, though - comfortably removed from talking distance - I won't be complaining. Yep, I'm a neurotic dork, so sue me. (sw) )

I would sit in between the guys who look like James Marsters (preferably circa late season 5-early season 6, when he had the messy bedhead hair) and Tahmoh Penikett. Conveniently enough, the guy sitting across to them looks exactly like Johnny Depp, and they all have wonderful personalities and are interested in me. They also happen to be good friends and roommates, and decide to invite me over to their house for a small gathering with champagne and lots of whipped cream...

Wait, what was I talking about?

I would sit next to the cute punk girl. Black hair tied back. Red streak running through it. Cute little ear piercings. No make up. No fake tan. Ripped blue jeans. Vans shoes. David Bowie t-shirt, and a tattoo on her wrist. And she's reading " To kill a mocking bird ". I've thought way to much about this.
