Fandom footwear

Why is it becoming a thing? A few years ago there was a Jaws shoe (i forget from who) and then a few months ago there were Game of Thrones shoes from (I forget where! ... notice a trend) and now VANS are coming out with a Harry Potter footwear line. And those are just to name a few.

This is yet another thing I don't understand. Do people actually wear them? Or do they collect them? I don't know why you'd want to wear a fandom shoe.

But then again, I have never wore a fandom shirt or anything (expect for sports and I guess you could call that fandom) but I don't think I'd want the general public looking at me rocking my new Weasley kicks.

What about you? Do you have an interest in fandom footwear?

I guess they are collectors things? Being a clash of high profile brands. There is probably a market for it. Teenagers are the only ones with spare change these days haha.

For me, footwear has to be practical. The last time I wore unenclosed shoes out here I got a branch stuck in my big toe. I am doubtful fandom brands would last me 4 days. All of my fandom shirts have holes in them except for the ones I got from Kmart (back to the future, the Ramones and Nirvana tops).

I am not concerned with footwear fashion in general but I do have Doctor Who socks!

It's everywhere now. Primark has a line of clothes printed with any half successful TV show. If there's money to be made then companies will have a go.

I'm not big on fashion but you will find me wearing band t shirts if that counts as fandom clothes. Buying some merch really helps them out so I'm happy to do it.

I would absolutely wear them if I liked the design. Most fandom shoes are cluttered, though, like someone thought they could just plaster a bunch of pictures from the fandom onto the shoe and call it a day. I've seen a few really cool fandom shoe designs, though.

^^ I actually like the design of both of those. The quality is my question. I wouldn't pay extra for patterns, but I think they are cool and look practical enough.

The last fandom shoes I saw online were buffy high heels. Definitely not practical. Even if a little bit pretty.

What about you? Do you have an interest in fandom footwear?

No...I've got two pairs of Snoopy/Charlie Brown Vans - my sons bought me one pair and I bought the other. I like CB but wouldn't categorise myself as a fan. I wear Vans because I find them more comfortable than Converse. Generally, I wear limited edition DMs. I've got these but I don't consider myself a William Blake fan.



I've also got these but I can take or leave Joy Division/New Order.



And these...apparently Grez is a well known tattoo artist. I've got no tattoos and I had to google him so again...not a fan.

I don't have any interest in fandom shoes, but shoe collecting is a bigger thing than I realized.

Keds has some Betty and Veronica shoes coming out.

Not sure if it counts, but I've had Cthulhu slippers for years. And though I mainly use them to put on my Strawberry Shortcake blanket (I like the contrast), I do wear them at times.

Speaking of slippers, I did get my sister a pair of Freudian slippers a few years ago.
