Fantasy/sci fi recommendations

Outlander is a great watch! I just finished watching the second season and I'm loving it so far. It's a good mix of history with sci-fi, so if you're into that, I'd definitely recommend it.

I have just seen that Netflix have out up s3. I know I have seen, and enjoyed s1 and 2 but cannot remember if I have seen s3. I do enjoy the sci fi elements but it gets pretty porny in there. I don't think I would want to touch that fanfic community with a ten foot stick, considering the smut on screen. But otherwise, yes, this is up my alley. Its probably my gore limit too.

May I ask a possibly spoilery question? To others if you don't want to risk it.

The last episode I saw the lead lady had her kid in the future anwas being transported back through the rocks. I think she woke back in Jamies time, but had not yet met up with him or seen how long she has been gone for

I saw some Xena when I was young, a lot of fun, a good one to go on the future list.

I am a big fan of Xena: Warrior Princess, but you'd need to go into it with the realization that it's a fantasy version of history/mythology and there is a lot of light-hearted and even silly stuff alongside the often very intense drama. Low budget, but very well done and a great deal of chemistry among the actors.

Game of Thrones is my absolute violence, sex and gore limit and I have to go into that being prepared haha. Another good story but I don't see the need for the graphic stuff in such detail. Any thing as intense as that is probably a no from me going forward but I will watch the next season.

I have a few Stephen king books but live alone in the bush so don't need too much more horror in my life 😉 I will have a great list to check or order at the library 😀 Ta muchly. I need to have a stock of books ready for next winter and will have plenty of time to source them. There are a heap of secondhand book stores around this state too.

There was a member of The World is Flat society who became the director for a film that was being made to prove that the world is flat.
All was going well until he had to do the aerial shots, the director took the role as cameraman and hopped in the rocket with the cameras. He blasted off and as he passed over the edge of the world he was heard to say these words, "Oh crap we were right."

That is one film that is not going to be made, should have watched the Discworld stuff.

I went to the library today and about half of the books are available electronically 🙂 Honestly think that scrolling scrambles my brain, so I will keep my list on me and an eye out in secondhand shops 🙂

Note that the Dark Tower books are not really horror... there are some elements of that, but it's kind of a fantasy, science-fiction, western hybrid. Pretty fascinating, one of the more absorbing series I've read. (And I'm not finished yet.)

I think you are talking about season 3, ep 5. They kind of split the series in two parts when they aired it.

So I finished s3 of Outlander and that was pretty sweet. An ending that has me hanging for s4, although I was kinda hopeful to see Jamie in the bikini time 😀

On to Farscape now, and so far its exactly what I am looking for. I feel like I may have started this once before, and a few familiar faces!

I don't think this is Farscape haha. But, fits what I was after, maybe a bit on the spooky side for late at night, it seems to have aired on aussie tv a few years ago so should be censored. Its called Threshold. Happy accidental find. I Haven't googled how long it went for, I only realised it wasn't Farscape at the start of ep 3 when I thought, hang on I don't think this is going in the direction it is supposed to be going… oh well, I'm invested now, Still on ep 3.

A Town Called Eureka

I have the dvds called Eureka about a town called Eureka. Is that the same one? Its about a science base in a town following the life of the cop and his daughter. Have I got the right show? I think I liked this so much that I stopped mid s2 cos I didn't want it to end. And then I forgot to go back to it haha. I will defiantly go back to it, even If its not the same show - so Ta 😀
